About this video

More progress on my magnified scopes mod. I have figured out how to implement night vision to the scope only. The night vision will activate automatically when aiming at night time or in interiors or can be toggled off at will with the 'N' key by default. Both the night time and toggle key can be changed in the mods ini file.

The scopes can now also be tinted to any colour, shown here with the Laser Rifle which has a yellow tint. The night vision setting in the weapon ini will determine whether or not to switch to the green night vision tint colour when enabled, or to just brighten the existing tint colour.

Alongside these major changes I have ironed out a few other small bugs that I discovered. So now that the scope framework is 99% complete, the next steps will be to add magnified scopes to the rest of the vanilla weapons, then tackle DLC and modded weapons integration.

Wow. Just wow. I don't want to hurry you or anything, but can't wait til it's release!

This seems to be gaining speed towards some form of completion, which is awesome to see. Darion was working on a similar mod, but it's been some time since anything has been shown from it, which is a shame. But modders operate on passion, not compensation, so nobody has any right to complain really.

Anyway, I wanted to ask if it's possible for users to edit the scopes by themselves and add patches for other mods, like weapons, retextures, remodels and so on. This way you won't have to bother with as many requests for patches (well, except from lazy people who don't want to bother to learn proper modding).

Either way, this looks awesome. Good luck with it!

Every aspect of the mod can be controlled via an ini file, per weapon. So if a mod changes the mesh and texture of a weapon it is as simple as editing XYZ values etc. to reposition the scope to fit the new mesh. I will make a tutorial on adding weapons to this system at some point.

pretty dope. been waiting for a good mod like this. question tho. will this work with WAP out of the box or will there have to be patches made for it?

No weapon models are touched directly, so it wouldn't be incompatible. The ini files just may need tweaking so the scope crosshair is placed correctly on the weapon model. I will look into providing modified ini files for mods that need them.
