With the major changes in NMS 4.20 Interceptor, officially adding sentinel ships as a new ship type, this one will require a major revamp, so this mod is going on hiatus for awhile until I have the time to loop back on it for a redesign.
I get it. The mod uses the vanilla models for the ship, as provided by Hello Games. This is much of the reason that the landing looks a bit off, because the HG model was never meant to land, so is also lacking custom animations for it to do so and nearly impossible for modders to do because we just don't have access to the custom tools that HG developers use to make these things in the format that the game could use.
I still love this ship. Wondering if it will ever be possible to have this as a player ship that can be seen in multiplayer. It always produced strange MP effects.
Probably not a way so that others can see it now after I had to do some significant surgery on it a couple of updates ago, because it completely broke MP (all other players would freeze in-place). It required enough changes that other players won't have the changed files and that data isn't synced.
NP, Police ship should still work, if I update the files. You can do so as well with the lua script and AMUMSS. I was thinking that it isn't necessary anymore due to the official inclusion of procgen sentinel ships. My thought is to make it into a sentinel starting ship thing, where the initial ship you get for a new save is a sentinel ship. Thoughts?
I can't update it with AMUSS (If you could put the file here <3) and yes, I used this ship with all the sentinel stuff at the start of the game for fun was there sentry police LMAO
Took longer than I expected to get to, but old versions updated to 4.21. Be aware, I made no changes in the .paks to account for new Interceptor stuff, so will work exactly as previous.
Good idea. It'll take some doing, but should be possible. Main thing is I'll need to somehow incorporate the model as part of sentinel ships, as it has to be set as that type (Robot in the code) for the sentinel tech to be used.
JI saw this yesterday, I wanted to provide you with the file with the Police in "Robot" via a save editor, but even that did, Sentinel technologies rejected the ship, and for the reactors a the back (which are still off) I don't even know how to add the lit model to it nor combined of time it will take TvT
As an update. Got to spend some time on it and the required base stat is not sticking. It's being deleted in the save file, so that after you get the ship, save, and exit the game, when you re-enter the game, the sentinel tech is gone from the inventory. Have to figure this out before can use the sentinel tech. Fingers crossed it's not something hardcoded in the exe. Thinking we may be getting 4.22 public tomorrow, so won't have anything by then, but at least I found a better icon for the emote menu button. Small change, but progress. lol
Advances are never denied lol, but in itself, taking a sentinel ship and modifying its skin as cleanly as possible wouldn't it be easier?

Why bother with revamping it? The sentinel ships are now procedural, thus there is not THE sentinel police ship anymore and secondly, we can obtain such a ship with some effort anyways without this mod. /shrugs/
faucheur731, in the previous thread, seemed to want it and if you read my first response to him, my initial thought was to retire the police ship portion of the mod and solely make it so that sentinel ship could be a starter ship.
We can't get his ship, and even if some procedural looks like him, he doesn't have him, I've played his ship a lot, I consider him THE ship of NMS, and if only to have him in a starting ship, is like coming full circle

Really cool mod... but only if you play single-player exclusively. I installed the mod and even when I'm not in the sentinel ship, players and ships in the nexus freeze. I understand this isn't the creator's fault and there's not much that could be done, but I also play multiplayer a lot :(
Yeah, this mod uses the actual ship model for police ships. You can also try gShip Custom Ships at No Man's Sky Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com). If you add the seed for the ship you want, using NMS Save Editor, your ship would look like the police ship (to you only). That mod uses "skins" on top of normal player ships, so is more forgiving.
I would ask that you not post messages like this in future. I ALWAYS update ASAP. Had to wait for a compatible version of MBINCompiler to be available before I could update my 90+ mods. Became available a couple of hours ago and I've been updating since. Messages like this DO NOT speed things up, they SLOW things down. Had to stop updating to read this message and write this reply, creating a delay in updating this and other mods. Updated now. Thanks.
Any other mods installed/still working? Do you still get the mod warning when starting the game? I'm guessing that verifying reset to default, which would have probably recreated disablemods.txt. HG patches will occasionally do this as well. Go to your NMS install directory\GAMEDATA\PCBANKS and either delete or rename disablemods.txt.
