Everyone knows about load order and how important it is. What is often overlooked is the order in which mod packages were installed to begin with. For things like texture replacers and patches, this is especially critical since the wrong order will mean the wrong models and textures will be displayed in the game.
First things first, you need to make sure the game itself is installed with any official DLCs you want.
1. Install the game.
2. Install the official DLCs if you have them.
3. Install Knights of the Nine.
4. Install Shivering Isles.
If you have a Game of the Year Edition, you likely don't need to do anything else. Once Shivering Isles is installed you should already be fully patched.
If you don't, then install the latest official game patch to bring you up to version 1.2.0416. Make sure you install the right one, as there is one for standard Oblivion and one for Shivering Isles.
Install Wrye Bash (or OBMM, but gack!)
Once these are done, the following package install order should be followed in most cases:
1. Install the Unofficial Oblivion Patch.
2. Install the Unofficial Oblivion DLC Patches if you have any of the official DLCs installed.
3. Install the Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch if you have Shivering Isles.
4. Install QTP3 Redimized.
5. Install the UOP350+QTP3 Patch.
Steps 4 and 5 are only needed if you're planning to use Qarl's Texture Pack. If you are not, then skip those and you'll be done.

1) Follow everything in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3r0C7fC3F-s
2) Go to where Oblivion is located, not the game directory, but where it's located.
3) Directly below the "Oblivion"" file, should be "Oblivion Mods", click on it.
4)There should now be two files, "Bash Installers" and "Bash Mod Data", click on "Bash Installers".
5) Now bring up your unzipped unofficial patch folder, and transfer it onto "Bash Installers".
6) Run Wyre Bash (one of the things you downloaded from the video).
7) Once Wyre Bash is started, click on the installers tab. If a pop up asks you to enable the installers tab, or something along the lines of that, accept. If you don't get that pop up, right click on the empty space of the installers tab, and look for the word enabled among the list, and then click on it. There should be a tick to the left of the word "enabled" once you've done that.
8) Then the unofficial patch should show up in the white space with a red sqaure to the left of it.If you do not see this, restart Wyre Bash, by quitting and running it again, and go back onto the installers tab and it should now be there.
9) Click on the "Unofficial Oblivion Patch", and accept anything that comes up. The red sqaure should turn green.
10) Go onto the Mods tab and three new folders should have popped up.
"Unofficial Oblivion Patch.esp"
"Oblivion Citadel Door Fix.esp"
"UOP Vampire Ageing & Face Fix.esp"
11) Tick the boxes to the left of all three of them, and that's it, now just start up Oblivion.
1) You have to download the "Wrye Bash Standalone Executable" and NOT the installer.
2) Unpack it and move the "Mopy"-folder manually to the Oblivion main folder (where the "Oblivion.exe" file is located)
3) Start the program via the "Wrye Bash.exe" in the "Mopy"-folder
4) Then click on the "Installer"-tab and confirm that you want to allow installations
5) Now drag and drop the "Unofficial Oblivion Patch"-archive in the "Installer"-Tab and check every .esp file in the "Plugin Filter" window (should be checked automatically)
6) Rightclick on the "Unofficial Oblivion Patch" in the "Installer"-tab and choose "Install"
7) Check the UOP box in the "Mods"-tab.
THAT'S IT
Of course, you then should run BOSS or LOOT and rebuild your bash patch, as you should do with every new mod installed
So, I tried unzipping the unofficial patch and DLC patches. The files are there. When I start Oblivion it lets you choose which files to load. Absolutely no clue what to do. I tried selecting all the normal + patch files, and Obilvion sort-of starts but then vanishes into thin air. Not even an error message.
Shame there are no step-by-step instructions from start to finish on how to use these mods. With datestamps on the instructions, so you know if they are even valid anymore!
Wow, another hour into this. Yay. Tried using Steam to move the files. The steam instructions on the steam website don't even match their own screens for adding a new library. Even more hilarious, it says "oh, that folder is already on the same drive as the existing folder, so we'll just manage the files for you since we don't think you know what you're doing" and won't give me an option to move the installation out of the program files folder.
What a pile of <bleep>.
Well, back to subnautica I guess. Good luck all!
