[[SPOILER WARNING - May or may not contain minor spoilers from various questlines.]]
When the first rays of light peeked through the stained glass windows of Rosethorn Hall, tickling her awake, Raphaela d'Aumont slowly opened her eyes. Glaring angrily back at the sun for a moment, she slowly rose to her feet, stretched and looked around drowzily.
She had been dreaming about Martin again. Only this time things had been different. This time she had been strong enough to help, to-- She shook her head. Such futile wishes were meaningless.
She slumped back down on the bed again, waiting for Eyja to bring her breakfast and tea and prepare her clothes. Recalling the night in Bruma the previous week as well as the talk she had with Vilja, she wondered to herself if she had really done right by Captain Burd.
It was not as if she didn't like him, at least not as a friend. However, all the people she had gotten close to or cared about lately had ended up hurt or dead. Viranus, Martin, Traven, even Lucien. No, it was better for everyone this way she thought to herself, staring up at the ceiling.Only Vilja had remained unscathed through it all. Well, aside from the occasional bruise or injury. However, it was probably only a matter of time before she too would be whisked away to that dark inevitable place not even the light of restoration magic could reach.
Besides, there was also the issue of her own "condition" to worry about. She knew that her time left in Cyrodiil was limited, she just didn't know how limited. Days? Months? Years? Bringing her friend with her was not an option. "However, she would most likely go willingly even if I didn't ask her" she muttered to herself. No, before that happened she had to ensure Vilja's safety.
She lay thinking on the bed for a while longer until she heard the familiar knock on her bedroom door and Eyja entered with a tray of tea and sweetrolls.

@Endoril: Yes, exactly. :3
Endorsed and looking forward to the next one~
As for the parallel dimensions, I think that's what the elder scrolls series is all about. Since an Elder Scroll would allow a person to alter history, all characters, all events and every action every character does can be considered canon. Pretty cool. :3
Endoril and Raphaela will never meet - but they share the same faith; it's like parallel dimensions - how much is that applicable to our real lives?
