The plan had worked. Distracted by the loud explosion from the Arcane University, the Palace Guard's attention was focused toward the Arboretum. They did not notice the ebony arrow flying towards the White Gold Tower, nor the rope ladder attached to it. For the next hours the Imperial Watch would be busy putting out the fire in the Arch Mage's tower, and wouldn't notice the black dressed figure quietly slipping from the shadows of the Imperial Garden, quickly ascending the tower's walls.

Raphaela peered down into the streets below through the Gray Cowl of Nocturnal. Raminus Polus had done an outstanding job, judging from the sounds coming from the towers opposite side. The streets were completely empty. Hopefully, the watch would find the note she pinned to the wall in the University Lobby, claiming full responsibility for the incident.

Crawling onto the ledge of the tower's first level, she quickly pulled the ladder up and started preparing a second arrow. She was in the clear now. Even if someone did discover her, she would be gone from sight again before they could climb the ridiculous number of stairs required to reach her current position.

She drew her bow again, firing another shot. Giving the ladder a hard tug first to ensure that it could hold her weight, she hesitantly started to climb the second level. Even though her equipment had been enchanted with Feather-spells to lighten her weight, one could never be too careful. A fall from this height would most definitely be lethal.

Grabbing onto the ledge of the third level, she removed her mask briefly, wiping the perspiration off her brow. "Next stop: Chancellor Ocato's chambers, and the Amulet of Kings", she thought to herself. "Well... What remains of it, that is."
