About this image

The Ancient Fortress of Oldanwor is one of the key strongholds of the Mythic Dawn, serving throughout the War of the Dragon and into more recent years.
Buried deep within the forests of the West Weald, it was able to go undiscovered for much of the first part of the War of the Dragon, but upon discovery was relentlessly attacked. Despite the near relentless attacks of the Order of the Dragon and the Legion, the Stronghold was never lost and no attacker ever got further than breaking through the outer defences.
After the War of the Dragon, Oldanwor remained a very active center for Mythic Dawn activity. It serves as Aparhelds personal command center and it is here that the dreaded and feared Elite Templar's are trained personally by Aparheld after having passed the Trials. Aside from the Elite Templars, their more common Templar brethren and a large number of Acolytes are also housed in Oldanwor.
This place is even feared by members of the Dawn themselves, for it is in Oldanwor that the door to Naghapol, sometimes referred to as the Punishment Halls, is held. Those who have failed the Dawn but may yet be redeemed are thrown through this door, which leads to a tower in the planes of Oblivion. If the condemned survives his time in there, he is pardoned and allowed back into the ranks of the Dawn.
At times, Coation himself has been known to come here for it is one of the safest places in the Empire. During the Battle of Skingrad, it was from here that Aparhelds offensive was launched, pouring out large numbers of soldiers who lay siege to Skingrad and seized it from the hands of the Loyalist forces.
Inside Oldanwor, the Mythic Dawn maintains an extensive Treasury, filled with jewels, riches, artifacts of great power and exotic items. There is also an Armoury with a forge, where a former dark elf thief named Enkidu Balorn now resides, having been freed from the Imperial Prison during the War of the Dragon and in return swore loyalty to the dawn and gave information on the location of the Dragon Temple.
