Looks good - no question: But (to be honest) I'm not sure if this armor keeps her also warm enough. The ringmail cuirass and -greaves... - ...you know what I mean?... - ...they are made of metal, cold metal...
I'd prefer an armor made of the bearskin!

Yes I know what You mean but I'll figure a resist frost enchantment for her new armor Besides I'm sure that nordic blacksmiths knew what they were doing when designig it so probably it's made of some sort of cold resistant materials (+ Vilja is very "hot" so it keeps her warm hehe ) .... Armor made of bearskin ! Now that's a good idea too ! Come to think of it she could put on a bear skin coat over her armor - I think it would be great !

Going by the resist frost enchantment logic, one could be naked in snow wearing only an amulet with a powerful enchantment and it would be fine, same applies for armor rating on ultra skimpy armors...gotta love the TES universe XD

Chain mail is always worn over thick quilted padding. That is how it worked. The chain mail stops the sharp stuff & the quilting pads the body from the blow. Scandinavians were masters of that technology here on Earth & made particularly strong linked chain mail that was especially resistant to parting. And that was without magic, I think.

The thick padding would be very warm for a Solthsthiem girl. I saw the guys there standing around in the snow in their underwear. It seems to make them very cranky though.

Fire resistance is usually a better bet in Cyrodiil in my experience. Nords have a 50% Frost Resistance as a race perk anyway. That is nothing to sneeze at. ;-D

Yes of course ! Wearing ringed mail on a bare body seams like a silly idea It should be worn with at least with some cloth linens underneath ! Thank You Zella for such an informative insight into Scandinavian armor technology ! You must be interested in world's history So am I ! Don't You just love those series on Discovery History ? I have also thinked of ringed mail as great against slashing weapons like some axes and scimitars but not so great against sprears and arrows and pikes and broadswords whitch were mostly the "sticky" xD weapons (but what are shields and the turtle formation for ! hehe ) Also crafting a ringed / chain mail (to join a few thousands rings together !) took an extrodinary amount of time for sure (it must have been expensive and more time consuming) but the mobility gained by the troops wearing it was invaluable against less mobile and heavy plate / and later cuirassers troops Well actually in the terms of "weapon <-> counter-weapon" mounted cuirassers skirmishers using a flanking formation could eventually out-manouver troops using ringmails, shields, long spears and a turtle formation .... but of course triangle defensive formation was a counter to flanking formation .... but of course that also pinned the unit down to one spot being vulnerable to artillery fire from especially deadly trebuchets and later cannons :O ... and of course ringmail was rather weak agains well placed crossbow bolt .... ok ok enaugh about history of warfare hehehehe It's just I like the topic xD

Well maybe she wears warm bearskin underwear underneeth....I was planning to make some leather and fur armors but got caught up in improving the metal ones (which included adding warm skirts, pants and sleeves...).Maybe wearing a fur cloack will help keep our girl warm?

Vilja looks grand in her new armor & none of her is left out to freeze off. ;-D

Congratulations to Vilja on her bear. She looks so proud. She will have a nice bear rug or bed cover now. Cook the bear meat very well though. They are omnivores like swine, & they also carry trichinosis. The bear fat has a lot of good uses also, so keep it too.

Thank You Zella ! ^^ We will put Your advice to good use ! We need as many bear skins as we can get cos the basement in our cottage is so drafty ! We might also try to create a new fur bedroll for Yojimbo if You wish ! ^^

As it turns out the wolf skin bedroll is perfect for Mifune-san who sleeps on top of it & enjoys the furry softness. Yojimbo is further south than before & sleeping in that would be to hot according to Jensine. Yojiombo considered that, & bought a bamboo & cloth one to put over his old ratty one that has been dragged through several wars. But he thanks you very much. ;-)
