Hey, everyone. I understand that it's been a little over a month since Areth was officially updated, so I wanted to remind everyone of the project's continued development. At the moment, I am hard at work redesigning significant portions of the world due to a few complaints regarding navigation - specifically the forest region of Eidyllia. In the next version, Eidyllia is going to be reconstructed within a separate worldspace, and will feature hills and valleys, which will help guide the player along a descending route to Arunor, the central region of the world.

As a bonus, I am also redesigning Arunor. In the present build, Arunor is represented as a vast and rather empty plain, so I am adding rivers and winding cliffs to make it more visually interesting. I am also adding farms across the area and plan to add decor like fences, barrels, etc.

Arendale will be removed from the mod, due to some very noticeable bugs with the trees and landscapes there, but also because I feel Eidyllia and Arunor are just so much more visually interesting - arguably the best regions I've created. And since those regions comprise the bulk of the Hyperian race, it will be easier to develop content in those areas.

I have decided against furthering development of the border regions - for example, Zamorr and Valoria - because I wish to focus on the Hyperian culture and their domain.

My roadmap of long-term development is as follows:

Version 1.0 - Hyperia (Eidyllia and Arunor)
Version 2.0 - Eldar Vale
Version 3.0 - Valor Peaks
Version 4.0 - Zamorrean Desert*

*The Zamorrean Desert's appearance is fully dependent on whether I have access to the proper resources, as it will be the most visually impressive and resource-heavy of all episodes.

Each episode will explore a different race and their homeland. Eventually, I hope to feature a unique main questline to each after they are developed - immediately after, ideally. These will be added as optional downloadable files called "campaigns" that will take the player on journeys to more directly experience and assist the individual races of Areth.

Short-term development for the Hyperian episode is as follows:
0.01.x - base exterior world
0.02.x - exterior decor, full interiors
0.03.x - dungeon interiors
0.04.x - combat system, items
0.05.x - monsters and custom playable races
0.06.x - NPCS (not guards or faction-related)
0.07.x - jail and guards
0.08.x - silent dialogue (rumors, greetings)
0.09.x - factions, misc quests and PvE activities
1.x.x - patches that feature bug fixes, art assets, voiced dialogue

    Looks beautiful! Good thing you posted this image, I somehow missed it's release. Keep up the good work!

      Thanks, Pushkatu! Yep, the new worldspace is gorgeous and getting better with time. I apologize that you missed its release! This is still a one-man project so my outreach is limited. And on that note, I'll admit, the image gallery isn't the greatest place for posting mod releases, as they are rather quickly buried there, heh.
