I've levelled up enough to do Vaermina's quest. She promptly sent me off to Arkved's Tower. The Vaermina of Oblivion makes the Skyrim Vaermina look like a favourite aunt. This Vaermina is horrendous and Arkved's Tower is a cross between the wastes of Oblivion and those dreams where you're not sure what your doing and what lurks behind the next door. The screenshot is near the start and it looks tame in comparison with what comes. The tower is horrific. Much, much worse than this shot conveys. Eventually, I grabbed the orb and left - thankfully there's a short cut out and I emerged into bright sunlight and the most wonderful lush landscape. It was really strange after sneaking about in that dreadful place.
I shan't be going back there in a hurry!
