dev/akm, your texture mod guides rock the casbah. There were so many of those mods from the reduced 512 to the overkill 4096 that the situation was a complete mess. Thanks for bringing some much needed light upon all of this.
just a little update. i had very good results with your 1024 reduced packages (both). but now i deleted all the landscapelod textures (had some shaja borderregion leftovers) and tried the 2048 combination:
texturemem raised a bit to 110-130mb, which seems to be the perfect deal for my 128mb r9800xt ">
thx again, without your mod i would have never messed around with landscapelod textures again and missed some graphic improvement without performance degradation.
aageomar: In all my time on the TES modding scene, I have never met anyone as petty as you. You gave me a 1 out of 10 because this mod does exactly what it says? The description for the mod clearly states that these are not as good as the originals!
The whole point of the mod is to achieve something better than vanilla -- which it clearly does -- yet with better performance than with the massive originals by Qarl and Blade9722. If you run both Qarl 4096 LOD normal maps and Blade's 4096 color maps then you must dedicate 276Mb of VRAM just for distant landscape! Yes, it looks great, but very few people have the VRAM to support it.
You also posted absurd objections to my FranOOOMMM mod, so I think you've just got a vendetta against me personally and your rating for this mod is pure spite.
Apparently there's nothing I can do about it, though, so I'll just have to live with it. I guess it must make you feel powerful or something to hurt other people for no reason. Do you also enjoy torturing helpless animals?
koschwarz: There are only two types of landscape textures -- close-range textures and distant textures. The mid-range view is created by the mip-maps of the close-range textures, so installing QTP2 or QTP3 will alter the close-range and mid-range at the same time. Make sense?

I guess you get what you paid for ...
I guess you must not have very loving parents or something. Who did this to you? Let it all out, man.
Glad I can be of some help to you as a vent for whatever it is that's wrong in your life.
EDIT: looks like aageomar removed his comments but didn't change his rating. LOL.

otherwise, if you apply the 512 versions, you have the same texture sizes as they are in the vanilla, but you get hopefully better visual.
