I saw someone openly wondering if anyone had made a mod that would allow you to live at Gweden Farm after completing the Anvil quest The Siren's Deception, saying it's a nice location with a good view. I looked, but I didn't find any, so I made one.
I made as few changes as necessary to avoid breaking the quest. In the unmodded game, the door has no key, but at the end of the quest it becomes locked with a key requirement, so the player can never enter again without using the console.
So, I made a key for the door, and placed it in a box inside the house, on the window sill, so that you can't go inside until you've gotten to that point in the quest. I added a single line to the stage in the quest once you've talked to the sirens, which will unlock the door at the time when it should be unlocked and allow the original quest scripts to handle your entry and exit.
This version of the mod also places keys in 2 hidden locations outside the house, for players who may have already completed the quest. One place is somewhere around the farm house (within 2 feet of the house, good hunting!) and the other is a more thiefy option, located somewhere in the house of the undercover agents who were involved in the case (taken as evidence).
I checked all the containers in the house, and made the respawning containers into non-respawning containers, so your items will be safe if you choose to move in. As already furnished, there's a master bed and 3 beds in the basement which you might use for companions, as well as a few books and some food down there to keep them occupied. I didn't change any of that.
I checked several times to make sure the quest played out from beginning to end without problems while running this mod.
I took a few screenshots for anyone who either hasn't yet played the quest, or can't remember what it looks like, and also one to show the location of the key box inside the house. (The others are for you to look for.)
Of course, you don't really need a mod to get back inside, if you just open the console, click on the door, and type "unlock", but you can still take advantage of this mod's non-respawning containers, even if you've already played the quest and want to get back in that way, and I imagine some people would prefer to do it with a key than the console way.
