About this mod
Gather the most elite combatants in Cyrodiil to stem the tide of the Oblivion invasion!
- Permissions and credits
This is a simple mod, though possibly only the early version. If I become suitably skilled with CS and the SoC gets enough attention to merit further work, I intend to at least try to add unique dialogue (it won't be voiced, as I simply don't have the means) and personal quests for companions. At the very least, if there is some success, I will come back and add more companions.
You can locate the twelve companions by reading the letter titled "Dossiers" in the master bedroom of Cloud Ruler Temple's west wing. If you can't or don't want to get access to Cloud Ruler for some reason, the exact locations of the companions are listed in the readme. All companions are located in the nine major cities of Cyrodiil.
The companions added by this mod are:
Jesan Ritch, an Imperial Knight.
Elisa Brigette, a Breton Bard.
Valmir, an Altmer Mage
Elthin, a Bosmer Archer
Mikkel the Wanderer, a Nord Barbarian
Davilia Arvel, a Dunmer Healer
Yag gro-Marag, an Orc Warrior
Sierra, a Redguard Rogue
Shadowstep, an Argonian Assassin
Shavari, a Khajiit Thief
Adam Lanier, a Vampire Nightblade
Kaederan, a Dremora Battlemage
Some backstory on the companions is given in the aforementioned Dossier letter.
Requirements:
CM Partners: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7819
Installation:
MANUAL INSTALLATION:
Once the file has been downloaded, extract the contents of the folder. Inside will be two files: The Soldiers of Cyrodiil Construction Set file and the readme. Locate the "data" folder in your Oblivion directory (it will be something like C:\Games\Oblivion\Data) Paste the "Soldiers of Cyrodiil" CS file in this folder, then open your Oblivion launcher and click on "Data Files". On the list you should see a checkbox that says "Soldiers of Cyrodiil". Check the box to activate the mod.
OBMM INSTALLATION:
Once the file has been downloaded, open OBMM and click on "Create" at the bottom center of the window. When the OMOD creator comes up, click on "Add Archive" and then locate the Soldiers of Cyrodiil file you downloaded. Click on it to open it into the creator, then change any settings you want to change and click "Create omod". When the file is done compressing, it should appear in the list of mods as whatever you named it, with a green box next to it. Double click on the mod or highlight it and click "Activate" to turn on the mod.
REMEMBER: You MUST have CM Partners installed and running in order for Soldiers of Cyrodiil to work! See above for link.
Thank you for trying the mod. Please let me know of any bugs, compatibility issues, typos or feedback.
UPDATE 4/14/2011: 100 downloads is about 98 more than I expected, and that was enough to get me motivated. Soldiers of Cyrodiil v2.0 is currently in development. The second version will include unique dialogue for all 12 companions as well as a personal quest for each. Release is still a while off. I will be most likely be doing a large chunk of the work over the summer. In the meantime, I may need occasional advice with scripting. If you are skilled with the scripts in the CS and you think you may be able to offer any help I need, contact me.
