About this mod
As known Oblivion has FAKE HDR built into the game. Through my own struggles and woes I have concocted a GUIDE for how to use HDR10 YES the one fancy monitors support.. On your Oblivion.
- Permissions and credits
I use mods, mods to improve stability, some may even be letting this work in the first place.
NVAC (Yes, New Vegas Anti Crash, works here too)
MoreHeap
Decoration Assistant
Some Mannequin Mod.
My own Personal mod where I put joels dying face on my Gold coins and renamed them to Joel'D
OneTweak (Borderless Windowed, HELPS WITH THE MENUS FOR SPECIAL K)
DisableProcessWindowsGhosting
Oblivion Sutter Remover and Sound Fix
4GB Patch
Unofficial Oblivion Patch
Playstation 4 Controller Button Icon Replacements
EngineFixes
You may not need these but I recommend the fixes and tweaky type ones. They will help to use this mod with less headache.
Things you ABSOLUTELY will need to know in due time!
YOUR MONITOR MUST SUPPORT HDR10! I don't know why I need to point this out, but I am certain people will ask anyway.. good luck on a response I'm not a spiteful person just lazy, this guide is so I can remember too.
The Special K menu WILL NOT allow mouse movement... atleast not without some effort. With the menu open (Left CTRL + SHIFT + BACKSPACE) when you hold ALT You can move the mouse ever so slightly... enjoy the arm pain, though it is necessary if you're up to the task.
New guide! If you came here before, WORRY NOT! This is much simpler! I cannot believe I missed this!
Firstly! Please download:
SpecialK Mod - At the top Naviagation Bar!
https://discourse.differentk.fyi/
SpecialK Library Updates! IMPORTANT! GET BOTH! (We only need the 32bit for oblivion but I recommend the "update!")
https://wiki.special-k.info/en/HDR/Calibration
DGVoodoo2 - Link shown in image below!
http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2.html
my NEW config for use in THIS NEW guide!
1. Configuring DGVoodoo2
Copy these files into your Oblivion Game folder (Like you would the Script Extender!)
Then open the program and configure the settings to look like this:
(MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE THE RIGHT VRAM OPTION FOR YOUR ACTUAL GPU!)
DONE!
2. Configuring SKIF! (AND THE NEW LIBRARIES!)
Firstly! Extract the Libraries found at the bottom of the Wiki shown above!
In this screenshot you will see that I have renamed the old libraries contained in SpecialK and placed the ones we downloaded from the wiki in this folder!
Open up SKIF.exe (Found in the special K folder) If you did the last step when you click a compatible game the Version should look like this: (Try a few games if it says N/A! This just means SKIF doesn't know what to use for that game!)
Next! go to the Global Injection tab and start the services!
^See this services Tab? Start the services, then launch Oblivion, you should see both a DGVoodoo2 Watermark bottom right, and a sort of ENB-Style Splash info at the top, then close the game! We did this to generate the profile directory for oblivion!
Go to this path on your computer! It should exist after you ran oblivion with the services on.
DELETE THE CURRENT SpecialK.ini and Replace it with the one I uploaded to this site!
Now run the game! HDR Will be enabled! HOWEVER! It is near IMPOSSIBLE to navigate the UI in this game for SKIF!
YOUR GAME LOGOS AND STUFF MAY APPEAR A WEIRD RED COLOUR AND SUCH! THIS IS BECAUSE YOU NEED TO TWEAK THE HDR SETTINGS! I will show how to do this now!
For reference: I have a HDR400, I know, on the low side but it does the job for me!
Extra: How to configure your HDR Settings!
Open up the SpecialK.ini I provided, IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS AT THE HDR SECTION!!
Each preset for HDR used in this file typically has [Number here] for the one you're editing.
There is info about these settings on the SAME wiki I linked for the DLL Downloads!
Preset= is the current preset you are running. Here it is 3 as my monitor is HDR400 the top one is too strong for my monitor and causes redness!
That is all! I hope this works much better than my previous guide! It sure does for me! Any issues tell me! I will see what I can do. But don't hold your breath!
