About this mod
This is a fix for Molag Bal's daedric quest. If you found yourself completely unable to beat the quest correctly, then this is for you. Bashable, won't take up an ESP slot with the Bashed Patch.

First Melus wouldn't pick up the mace.
Then I used the Active Inventory spell mod to give him the mace, which he would use afterwards but even after he beat me to death with it, the quest would still update to tell me "I have goaded Melus Petilus into attacking me, but *not* with the Cursed Mace. I have been transported back to Molag Bal's shrine." - regardless of if he used the Mace or not.
Even after using the console to force equip him with the mace, it still would not give me the correct update.
After screwing around in both TES4Edit and the construction set I was finally able to fix this.
This mod is only for people who are having problems getting the Molag Bal quest to work. If that quest already works fine in your game don't download this.
I basically reversed some of the quest variables so it should be impossible to fail now.
This mod also unlevels the quest, meaning you no longer have to be at level 17 to start it - you can now do it starting at level 2.

I have a small update. According to the UESP, this problem is apparently fairly prevalent. The reason why console command force-equipping the mace on Melus, or giving it to him using a mod like Active Inventory spell, doesn't work is because certain variables need to be set for the quest to actually give the proper update.
Specifically 'set damolagbal.hasmace to 1' and 'set damolagbal.maceequip to 1'
Those console commands will ensure that the quest will give the correct update.
Or, you can just download this mod, merge it into your bashed patch, and save yourself the headache of fiddling around with reloading the game a million times and/or using the console.
