This mod seeks to make questlines more rewarding and open more builds to late game viability by enhancing the power of many unique and artifact level items. In most cases, the base value, durability, and number of charges has been increased for the items affected. The full list is as follows:
Aegis of the Apocalypse:
The beneficial enchantments on this armor have always been outweighed by the negative enchantments and price. The enchantment has been updated to provide massive protection in exchange for significant weaknesses.
New Enchantment:
- Burden 20pts
- Drain Luck 10pts
- Drain Endurance 20pts
- Fire Shield 12%
- Frost Shield 12%
- Shock Shield 12%
Because of the way shield spells work in Oblivion, this cuirass will now provide more protection than a daedric cuirass.
Aleyid Crowns: The aleyid relics questline is a fantastic dungeon delver and one of the best ways to make money in the early game. The final reward of the crown(s), however, is rather underwhelming. As nice as the triple enchantment is, particularly for mage characters, the crowns are classified as armor while providing no protection. This mod sets the armor rating to match the corresponding light armor helmet based on the level of the player when the crown is acquired.
Archmage Set:
Enchantments have been added to the hood and robes to match the station of archmage.
Hood Enchantment:
- Fortify Willpower 10pts
- Reflect Spell 10pts
- Fortify Magicka 20pts
- Fortify Alteration 5pts
- Fortify Conjuration 5pts
- Fortify Destruction 5pts
- Fortify Illusion 5pts
- Fortify Mysticism 5pts
- Fortify Restoration 5pts
- Restore Magicka 3pts/sec
Bloodworm Helm:
While you are unable to keep this item, its enchantment was always underwhelming for the importance the quest placed on it. It's powers have only been slightly improved, increasing the fortify conjuration effect significantly and adding waterbreathing to reflect the lack of need for undead to breath.
Brusef Amelion's Armor:
An optional reward for an early Fighter's Guild quest gives you the option to collect the armor so the quest giver can sell it or to pay the quest giver's debt in exchange for the armor. Given its unique appearance, it is a shame that it is only as good as chainmail. This mod increases the armor rating for the armor set to just above elven armor and removes the enchantment from the Cuirass so you can place your own.
Ebony Blade:
Given the usefulness of the enchantment, no increase was added to the power. Instead, the number of charges was increased to 5000pts.
Goldbrand:
This is already the strongest sword in the game after its enchantment. Increased charges to 5000pts
Helm of Oryen Bearclaw
The final reward for becoming the master of the Fighters' Guild, it already boasts an armor rating equal to deadric. The enchantment has been enhanced.
New Enchantment:
- Fortify Agility 15pts
- Fortify Endurance 15pts
- Restore Fatigue 2pts/second
Hrormir's Ice Staff:
The enchantment of the staff has been updated to match its legendary and chilly reputation.
New Enchantment:
- Frost damage 15 pts in 30 ft on target
- Weakness to frost 50% in 30 ft on target
Imperial Dragon Armor: The final reward for completing the main quest, it is very likely a player will have leveled past the point where this armor is useful. Given it comes with a loss of access to sigil stones, the best source of new enchantments in the game, the armor should really be more whelming than it is, especially since it is supposed to be fit for the emperor!
The mod increases the armor rating from dwarven/chainmail level to ebony/elven level. The durability and value is slightly better than their equivalent armors and they are a few units lighter. Additionally, each piece boasts a new enchantment.
Helm Enchantment:
- Detect Life 60ft
- Fortify Magicka 25pts
Gauntlets Enchantment:
- Fortify Strength 10pts
- Resist Frost 50%
Cuirass Enchantment:
- Resist Disease 50%
- Resist Fire 50%
- Resist Poison 50%
Greaves Enchantment:
- Fortify Agility 10pts
- Fortify Fatigue 25pts
- Feather 25pts
Boots Enchantment:
- Fortify Speed 10pts
- Resist Shock 50%
King of Worms Set
The raiment of the most legendary necromancer of all time. It is unthinkable he would not have enchanted them to augment his own power. Enchantments have been added to both hood and robes.
Hood Enchantment:
- Drain Strength 10pts
- Detect Life 60ft
- Night-eye
- Spell Absorption 25pts
Robes Enchantment:
- Fortify Conjuration 10pts
- Fortify Magicka 50pts
- Restore Health 2pts/sec
- Sunlight Damage 5pts
Mace of Molag Bal:
The enchantments on the mace never seemed to fit its use.
New Enchantment:
- Absorb health 5 pts
- Absorb fatigue 5 pts
Masque of Clavicus Vile:
As unlikely as it is that anyone would choose the masque over Umbra, it at least ought to live up to its legendary reputation to grant incredible guile to its wearer.
New Enchantment:
- Fortify Personality 20pts
- Fortify Speechcraft 20pts
- Fortify Mercantile 20pts
Mundane Ring:
One of the most powerful rings in the game and the key to one of the two main invincibility builds. Given the strength of several of these items, the enchantment on this one has been given a downside. It is now a ring that accepts no magic, from within or without.
New Enchantment
- Reflect Spell 35pts
- Resist Magic 50%
- Silence
Raiment of Valor:
The arena is one of the best ways to earn money and level up early game. Unfortunately, by level 6, the player can find gear that offers more protection than the champion's raiment. This mod increases the armor rating for the raiment to be equivalent to orcish/mithril armor.
Ring of Namira:
There are several really powerful rings in Oblivion. This ring's combination of effects is very useful, if a bit low at higher levels. I updated its enchantment only slightly given how powerful it is.
New Enchantment
- Reflect damage 15%
- Reflect spell 10%
Rugdumph's Sword:
One of the few weapons with a unique appearance, this two handed weapon has the power and reach of a one handed weapon. To justify losing access to a shield, its attack range has been upgraded to 1.2 and its damage to 20.
Savior's Hide:
As the only cuirass artifact and the reward from a quest that requires you kill the unique unicorn, this should really be the best light armor in the base game. Its base armor rating has been increased to 13.
New Enchantment:
- Resist Magic 35%
Spellbreaker:
One of the only shield artifacts known for disrupting even the mightiest spells. The first time I wandered into the remote region where Peryite's quest takes place, I was already well over the level that this shield would be useful to me. This mod increases the shield's armor rating to 22.5, equivalent to deadric. The enchantment has also been enhanced.
- Reflect Spell 50pts
Staff of Worms:
As the primary weapon of history's greatest necromancer, a 30 second reanimation is pathetic. The enchantment has been upgraded to have a duration of 3600 seconds. Enjoy your zombies for a full hour!
Umbra:
The most iconic artifact in the game also boasts the highest base damage of any one handed weapon. The cost of its enchantment has been reduced to 1 to reflect its insatiable hunger for souls.
Volendrung:The hammer of might should have no equal in all of Tamriel, nor is it an easy thing to wield. The hammer's base damage has been increased to 30 and its weight has been increased to 80.
