About this mod
Replaces several guards' armor with Mixxa77's Heavy Townguard Cuirasses. Version auf Deutsch auch.
- Requirements
- Permissions and credits
This mod doesn't contain any assets of its own, so it requires the mod above. This mod makes the cuirasses playable and adds them to the guards' inventories. The inventory icons are reused from the vanilla cuirasses. The original resource doesn't have separate models for females, so they use the same models as males.
The new cuirasses are slightly worse than Dwarven armor, similar to the original light cuirasses being slightly worse than chainmail.
This mod inherits changes made by the Unofficial Oblivion Patch and thus requires it. Will conflict with mods that alter town guards, and will not change guards added by other mods.
Compatibility Patches for:
Cyrodiil Re-Loaded (formerly Oblivion Uncut)
Languages:
English (main)
German/Deutsch (tentative)
Installation
1.) Install the requirements. Both manual installation and mod manager installation should work fine.
2.) Download either a HeavyTownGuardArmor file (for both guard captains and normal Skingrad guards to have the new cuirasses) OR a HeavyTownGuardArmor_CaptainsOnly file (for only guard captains to have the new cuirasses) in your language of choice.
2a.) [Optional] Download any compatibility patches.
3.) Install by placing the .ESP(s) in your Oblivion/Data directory, where all the other .ESPs should be.
4.) If the mod is installed correctly, the affected NPCs should now wear the new armor. Generic guard NPCs' inventories may act in unexpected ways, so you may need to wait or travel around to see the changes. Named NPCs may require that you "disable" and "enable" them in the console for their inventories to reset.
(I don't know exactly how translations work in Oblivion, but the item names are translated, and NPC names are reverted to the target language's original.)
I always thought it as odd that Skingrad guards had steel boots and such, but still used light armor cuirasses. When I found Mixxa77's modder resource, I decided to make and release my first mod.
