I did NOT rename the .esp by https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/2416
I crafted my very own, but years after remembering HOW to properly use that toolset. I tested it, and it worked.

Changelogs
Version 1.01
Tested, worked. Alternate or extended versions seem harshly necessary.
Security First: I did check my files for malware & spyware, but given that files can be infested during uploads & downloads: First of all scna the ZIP or unzipped foler or both with your virus scanner, malware scanner, spyware scanner: Better safe than sorry.
When I checked WHAT made the original armored robes fail, I found a conceptual mistake. My predecessor had added a new robe, instead of editing the in-game ones.
What does my quickfix do?
Hood of Mythic Dawn, for them and player, grants lesser deceiver powers (fortify speechcraft stuff)
Robe of Mythic Dawn grants PETTY (10%) resistance to normal weapons, which actually should also be added to ALL apprentice mage robes, yet I decided not to go game-breaking on our beloved oldie game.
How to install? Copy the .esp file into the data folder of the game. Start the launcher not the game exe and select Data Files, click the checkbox of this .esp on the list you see, so that a black X is in it.
Can it work on saved games, or do one has to restart? My quick-check made it work on my test char facing the tougher Kvask mod's odds... Holy crap, from smack an imp or three to tactical wear-down an army squad. ;-)
