About this video
Oblivion is a great game, but it does have a lot of unused potential, especially when scripting gets involved. This is the second video of my personal concepts for what can be done. I have been greatly disappointed, when Oblivion didn't include the deadly traps on chests and doors as its predecessor Morrowind did. Not only that, but the Security skill doesn't influence if you actually can or can't open a certain chest. It may be harder, yes, but with time and enough lockpicks practically ANY lock can be picked right from the start. In an RPG game, where development is the highest reward for time spent on buffing up your character, it is a rather big oversight. In my opinion, deathly traps can be one way of correcting this. And they make successfully opening a chest that bit more of a treat.
In this video, you can see the basic concept of trapped chest and disarming traps. You may notice, that the trap has a random chance of being either fire or frost - this chest would have belonged to a mage and they do have a tendency of being tricky with magic :) I have not included lock bashing at this time, but I have thought about it.
These do NOT use OBSE! All is done within the scripting limitations of vanilla Oblivion.
Please ignore the watermark, it is annoying, but had been unavoidable at the time.
