About this mod
An Egine.ini preset curated for Oblivion Remastered to boost a potato PC from unplayable (2~5 FPS when exiting the Sewer) to playable (30~60 FPS when exiting the Sewer).
- Permissions and credits
To install, launch Oblivion Remastered once, let the shaders precompile, exit the game, then place the file at this location:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\Windows
Do not place the file in your usual Document folder. Copy-paste this exactly as is. If the file does not exist, you are in the wrong folder.
This was only tested with the Steam version. While it should work with other versions, I cannot support these.
Obviously, this is incompatible with other Engine.ini presets. Other mods should be compatible.
It is highly recommended to save only in small areas. Large outdoor areas might cause issues when loading the save.

Troubleshooting
- Nothing changed after installing the mod.
Be sure to put the Engine.ini file in the correct folder. - No FPS were gained and the game is uglier.
This is for low-end PC. If you already have 30+ FPS without any tweak, this is not the mod for you. - Item held can be seen in farther water reflection.
Be sure that SSR is deactivated, then change the Reflection Quality option, then change it back to the desired quality. This is a bug from the game itself, where SSR is acting up even though it is deactivated. - The game freeze and the music stops while loading for the first time.
It's possible that you may have to restart the game a couple time when this happen. This only occurs for the first loading of the game, so as soon as you are able to actually play, you won't see this occur again until you close the game. - The game freeze and the music stops a short time after loading in the game for the first time. An FPS boost was noticed.
You are probably trying to load in an area heavy in reflection or foliage. Try to lower your settings before loading this save. If this does not work, backup the modded Engine.ini, delete it, open the game and load your save. You will be playing in very low FPS, but it should not freeze anymore. Change area, preferably inside, save, and install the mod again. This should fix that issue. - The FPS dropped after changing some settings.
Wait for a minute or two. Some settings are safe to change while in-game without a reboot, like the Reflection Quality for example. Others might require a full game reset to use the modded Engine.ini again.
