How to replace textures in Fallout 3

  • Comment
Late last night JosefGrey messaged me on the site letting me know he had worked out how to replace textures within Fallout 3 and whether I was interested in the process. I latched on to his request straight away and JosefGrey kindly offered to write a tutorial on the subject.

Along with his tutorial he also provided a screenshot of a swanky little texture edit to prove his changes worked, lipgloss in Fallout 3! While Josef's example might only be small, this process paves the way for much greater modifications for Fallout 3.

I hope that JosefGrey has helped out some of the budding Fallout 3 modders out there while we still wait for word from Bethesda regarding a construction set or SDK for the game.

That's awesome news! Virtual cookies (and a kudo) to whoever puts out the first decent eye texture replacer. I hate the stock in FO3; they look filmed over and rheumy.
