About this mod

Adds a new trainer with skill tree in Monsoon. The Enlightened Pathfinder is a tree with mostly passives but focuses on strong exploration skills and lantern use.

I am not a good modder, I'll fully admit that upfront.  However, after pitching the idea to a number of people with more skill and having it turned down, I spent the last 6 months or so doing my inept best to try to make the thing myself.  This is the final result.  As you can see from this mod vs. the concepts pitched in the forum thread, it didn't turn out as fancy or in-depth as the original idea.  Also, all skill icons were made from free stock-art found online with some pitiful attempts on my part to adapt them to the game.  While Flamethrower got a cropped "skillicon" image added to the game to work in the skill tree, sometimes it seems to work and othertimes not . . . I don't know why.

It is only posted here on Nexus and I expressly do NOT give any permissions to reupload it anywhere else . . . but I'm sure that won't stop people . . . it's the internet.  I do give permission for anyone to do a reupload on Nexus for translations.  However while I'm mostly uploading it for my own archival purposes, after seeing how many views my mod request had on the Nexus forums, I also figured others might be interested in it.

Installation:  Easily done with R2Modman over on Thunderstore if you're using it, which isn't required, but convenient.  This mod DOES require Bepinex and Sideloader.  Otherwise just drop the Enlightened Pathfinder folder, within the zip, into your /Bepinex/plugins directory within your Outward DE installation.

Uninstall:  Just delete the folder from your plugins directory.  However note that any character with new skills with this mod may be a bit borked . . . at the very least they're going to suddenly lose the skills you purchased (which may include a wasted breakthrough point).

Compatibility:  It is fairly simple, so it should have compatibility with any other mod, unless they alter the Flamethrower skill, which is used by this skill tree and was slightly rebalanced.  Also, while made for the Definitive Edition, it's simple enough it should probably work with the original version of the game, as well, but this is untested.

Mod Contents:
The trainer is one Horizio Brandt, who is located in Monsoon with the other trainers.  He's pretty easy to spot.  No special quest or jumping through hoops.  This is meant to be a fairly vanilla feeling class that blends with the rest of the base classes in the game.  I really enjoy using Flamethrower, was disappointed that there was no way to improve it or further expanded lantern skills, and often found myself not even sure where to use my third breakthrough, regardless of build type.

Skill Tree:
1A:  Flamethrower - The same skill otherwise acquired in Conflux Mountain, for the same 50 silver cost if you missed it there.  It has been slightly rebalanced/tweaked to be a main combat skill.  Durability loss is now a flat 15, making it more usable in general terms and also giving you an extra use or so out of things like torches and old lanterns that will bleed a point or two of durability in combat and rob you of that last use at ~18-19 durability.

2:  Hasty Refuel - Costs 50 silver.  This skill has a 2 minute cooldown and requires 2 Thick Oil to use.  Without having to enter a crafting menu or unequip your lantern, this skill instantly refills (restores 100% durability) whatever lantern/torch you have equipped and then lights it if it wasn't already.  Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to make it use batteries for the Coil Lantern or Cold Stones for the Ice Flame Torch, but it at least works and it doesn't overcharge the item . . . limitations of my skills.

3:  Slight Edge - Costs 100 silver.  Every bit of training helps.  This simply increases max Health and Stamina by 10 . . . but not mana.

4:  Delver - Costs 100 silver.  Pathfinders are scouts and train to explore unpleasant places, so this skill was intended to emphasize that.  Increases Decay and Corruption resistance by 10.

5:  Prepped for Anything - Breakthrough and costs 500 silver.  Even when dropping your pack you should have the essentials for any scenario.  It increases your Pouch by 10 as well as giving 2 Armor and Barrier.

6B:  Lantern Wisp - Requires Flamethrower, costs 600 silver, after breakthrough.  Harness the light of your lantern to create a wisp that automatically tracks and hits a target for 10 damage of each elemental type.  Targeting can sometimes get a little wonky, but I wasn't able to figure out how to get it to occasionally NOT target stuff through walls.

7:  Trained Reflexes - Costs 600 silver, after breakthrough.  Very simple passive that improves movement speed and cooldown rates by 5%.

8C:  Versed Elementalist - Costs 600 silver, after breakthrough, and requires Lantern Wisp.  Increases all elemental damage types by 20%.  While it's useful for any and all elemental types you're using from any damage source, it still requires the lantern skills to eventually acquire.  It's meant to stand as the class progression to improve your wisps as well as any Flamethrower type you're using, first and foremost.
