Unfortunately I'm not managed to get back to Pacific Drive to play/update mods and I don't see that changing in the
foreseeable future. 

I give full permission to my work to anyone who want's to make their own fork of the mod for updates/new features/any other reason you feel like.

This mod makes tools 10x more durable, and paint and decals have 100x more uses..  Existing items will keep their current durability so you will need to find/craft new ones to benefit.

Installation:

Extract the mod's .pak file and place it in the ~mods directory of your Pacific Drive installation.  For Steam this will be a path like:

C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Pacific Drive\PenDriverPro\Content\Paks\~mods

If the ~mods directory does not exist, create it.

NOTE: install only one version of this mod at a time, as they all replace the same asset!

If the mod does not work:

Make sure your mods directory is called ~mods and not mods 

Some mods will load fine from mods or even from the main pak directory,  some do not.


Compatibility:

This mod changes the base.tune asset, and is not compatible with other mods that adjust this asset.  Mods are loaded in alphabetical order so youy can adjust the load order by renaming files in ~mods.

Cosmetics Only Version

This version affects paint and decals only.

Extended Version


The extended version has a number of other changes in addition to durability.  This is a WIP and not every change I've tried works.

  • Regular headlights distance increased to match bio headlights (range only, not angle or color)
  • ResourceScanner scan range doubled
  • Scrapper scraps faster
  • Mud slightly less painful to drive in
  • 10x longer time before part fatigue
  • Pickpockets need to get closer before stealing a part, don't run as far or as fast, and stop longer to taunt you.
  • Deco-vend cost reduced to 1 (sign on machine not changed)
  • Garage healing station max healing per garage visit increased x10
  • Double energy from anchors
  • Power Bumper Passive drain reduced to be the same as headlights
  • Big Gas Cans hold more fuel (not working)
  • Power generators (solar, wind, hydro) generate 4x more charge
  • Lightning rod double effectiveness
  • Arc energy -> battery generator 10x more effective (and you probably still won't use it...)

Added in extended version 1.1:

  • Reverted attempt at big gas can size change
  • Single use items (like patch kits) can now be used 10 times
  • More olypium veins per resource
  • resource scanner speed increased
  • power-grip tires ramp up to full power faster
  • reduced fuel consumption when car is idling
  • matter recycler works faster
  • Friendly dumpster spits out items faster and can be used more often (but every use after the first still has reduced speed and loot)
  • Junction scanner can be used 1/15/30 times instead of 1/3/5 times (only works if you upgrade to a new level of scanner after installing mod)


Making Your Own Custom Version


The only tool you need is [Unreal Asset Editor/Viewer](https://github.com/kaiheilos/Utilities) (use green code button -> Download as zip)
Extract \PenDriverPro\Content\Tuning\base.tune either from the original pakchunk0-WindowsNoEditor.pak or from this mod's download.  Keep the folder structure, edit the file in any text editor, then Select Functions -> Package Folder and point it to the PenDriverPro directory to make your custom .pak.

Not every setting in base.tune works and a lot have weird names, so have fun experimenting.
