About this mod

A buff to Legendary Blueprints, which can be obtained from defeating Alpha Pals, drop rate. Comes in multiple different versions!

Permissions and credits
Changelogs
This is a simple mod that increases the Legendary Blueprints (that can be obtained by defeating certain Alpha Pals) drop rate chance from the original 3% to higher percentage.

PalSchema version is available as an alternative version for this mod! PalSchema version requires you to have UE4SS installed, though. This version doesn't require anything.

Wait, but aren't there already mods that's similar to this one?
There are! However, I wanted to give others the ability to choose their own playstyle and how hard you want to farm.

Why 20% as Default? Why not 10% or 33%?
I don't know about you, but I play the game in Single Player, and I didn't like the relatively small chance for the best blueprints to drop, and I didn't really want to "farm" to the point that it may take me hours to actually get what I want. However, I didn't want to make it "too easy" for myself.
As usual, only you, Player, can decide whether you need this mod or not and which version do you need.
Multiple different versions are available:
  • 10% (Low chance)
  • 20% (Medium chance, Default version)
  • 25% (Medium-High chance)
  • 33% (High chance)
  • 50% (Very High chance)
  • 100% (Guaranteed drop, use only if you don't care too much about balance)
Only use one version of the mod at a time!

Which Pals exactly are changed here?
Only Alpha Pals which can drop the Blueprints:
  • Kingpaca -> Old Bow
  • Bushi -> Crossbow
  • Blazamut -> Assault Rifle
  • Suzaku -> Pump-Action Shotgun
  • Beakon -> Handgun
  • Jetragon -> Rocket Launcher
  • Penking -> Feathered Hair Band
  • Warsect -> Metal Helm
  • Menasting -> Refined Metal Helm
  • Frostallion -> Pal Metal Helm
  • Chillet -> Cloth Outfit
  • Azurobe -> Pelt Armor
  • Elizabee -> Metal Armor
  • Astegon -> Heat Resistant Refined Metal Armor
  • Lyleen Noct -> Cold Resistant Refined Metal Armor
  • Necromus -> Heat Resistant Pal Metal Armor
  • Paladius -> Cold Resistant Pal Metal Armor
Since patch 0.2.1.0:
  • Verdash -> Single-shot Rifle
  • Quivern -> Musket
  • Vaelet -> Double-barreled Shotgun
Since patch 0.3.1 (or 0.3.2, or I maybe missed it earlier):
  • Fenglope -> Makeshift Handgun
Since patch 0.4.13 (or maybe slightly earlier with 0.4.11, as I missed the original update of Feybreak):
  • Frostallion Noct -> Laser Rifle
Since patch 0.4.14:
  • Azurmane -> Advanced Bow
Other Pals and other things are unchanged.

Any plans to change other things?
No. I'm only focused on adjusting Alpha Pals. There are other mods which should be able to adjust these drops and not conflict with this mod.

Installation
Just put the .pak file inside the archive to [Base Game Folder]\Pal\Content\Paks.
If you don't want to clutter the main Paks folder, create a folder named "~mods" inside the Paks folder, and put the .pak file there (so the .pak file would be placed to "[Base Game Folder]\Pal\Content\Paks\~mods"). This is optional - game should still work fine if you just put the .pak file in the Paks folder.

What files are changed?
This mod modifies two DataTable files: "DT_PalDropItem" and "DT_PalDropItem_Common" (Structure: "Pal\Content\Pal\DataTable\Character"). No really, that's it, it's only 2 files.
Before game patch 0.4.11, only 1 file was enough to modify ("DT_PalDropItem"). Now it seems you also currently need to modify "DT_PalDropItem_Common" for changes to work properly.

Compatibility
The mod should be compatible with most other mods - as long as the mod doesn't modify the DataTable files mentioned above, it will work fine!
However, that also means that the mod is pretty much incompatible with any other mods that change the loot drop tables.

Tools used:

  • FModel to extract the required uasset
  • UAssetGUI to modify the uasset (NOTES: Mappings are required; new Mappings are required after any bigger update; set engine version to 5.1)
  • UnrealPak to prepare the mod
  • Palworld Database (https://paldb.cc/) to make sure I got all the Alpha Pals for this mod

The mod was tested with STEAM Game Version 0.5.0. Just to clarify, the mod may not work correctly or at all in the future if there are changes done to the file and this mod is not updated.
I don't know whether this mod works in online, I only play in Single Player so I can only test there. It *should* work, but I need more information on that.
Doesn't seem to work with Gamepass version, and since I don't own the Gamepass version, I cannot test it to check for differences.

That's it, really. Have fun!
