It can only control characters' stats, it does not change encounter spawns, so the difficulty you select in the game settings still matters in that regard.
Some things you could do with this:
- Play on PotD difficulty to spawn more enemies, but disable their harsh PotD buffs
- Play on Easy difficulty to spawn less enemies, but buff them to be more challenging
- Make soloing the game easier
- Make PotD even harder, if you find it too easy for you
The stats you can customize (both for enemies and your party separately):
- Accuracy and defense bonus – The vanilla game uses this to give +15 accuracy and defense buff to all enemies on PotD
- Health multiplier – The vanilla game uses this to give all enemies +25% health buff on PotD and -50% health penalty on ST
- Level multiplier – The vanilla game uses this to scale down all enemies by -25% on ST
- Recovery time multiplier – The vanilla game uses this to give enemies +50% recovery time penalty on ST
- Damage multiplier – The vanilla game uses this to give enemies -25% to -50% damage penalty depending on player health
- Disengagement accuracy bonus – The vanilla game uses this to give enemies -25 disengagement accuracy penalty on ST
- Hit to Crit bonus % – The vanilla game uses this to give the player +33% to +50% Hit to Crit buff on ST
You can change these values at any time – even in the middle of combat. Changes are applied in real time.
Note that the sliders have a very wide range for the sake of freedom, but for balanced gameplay you shoud stick to moderate values. For example, the vanilla Path of the Damned difficulty only gives +15 to enemy accuracy and defense, but this mod allows anything from -100 to +100. With more extreme values you can make the game literally impossible, or incredibly easy.
By default, all sliders are set to values that match the Easy/Normal/Hard difficulties (i.e. no buffs or penalties for anyone).
