The way the game works, Soul whip (or the upgrades, draining/biting whip) will deactivate when your focus is full. What ends up happening then, when you use the Soul Annihilation ability at max focus is you get less damage than using it with less than max focus! So you always have to build focus for Soul Annihilation, but not all the way so as to benefit from the Soul Whip passive. A little bit too much micromanagement for my tastes. So I edited it and left the activation requirements as "none" so that it's simply always active.
Didn't really test how it works with the biting whip, but I don't see why it shouldn't. let me know if it doesn't.
