This article is effectively a copy of the contents in the Compatibility section that can be found in the documentation. That section of the documentation contains a little bit more information than this one, and some links to the few compatible mods.
As Compass is meant to be a self-contained and large-scale overhaul, there are not going to be very many compatible mods. You can generally assume if it changes anything non-visual, it is not compatible.
Below are some lists of various mods and their current status. This may not be every mod currently available, but does include everything generally up-to-date on Nexusmods and Gamebanana.
Keep in mind that if you are wanting to use any mod in conjunction with Compass, you must repack all of your mods with Trinity. No matter what. Read the section in this page at the end for Installation details which gives some information about this, or check out the documentation for more.Compatible Mods
- Improved Dynamic LODs
- Increased Poké Population
- Wild Pokémon Shiny Indicator — Generally recommended to only have enabled while shiny hunting, as the effect persists in menus, battles, cutscenes, etc., and can be very intense in some cases.
Generally compatible : All visual mods, such as shiny reskins.
Incompatible Mods
- SV+ — Completely incompatible. Breaks major aspects of both mods. Completely breaks raid compatibility. Do not combine these two.
- Less Rare Pokemon Spawns — Compass modifies spawn rules that this would overwrite and would prevent many Pokémon from spawning at all, as well as without any of the dozens of Compass-added spawn sets.
- Remove Version Exclusivity - wild spawns - Pre-DLC — Compass already does this.
- Revamped Eeveelutions — Would completely override all evolution, moveset, and BST adjustments made by Compass. Breaks all Compass-added evolution methods, and will result in wholly incorrect and broken raid allies in the highest tiers in Compass.
- Better Gliding — Unnecessary; included in Compass.
- Better Buff Bistro — Unnecessary; included in Compass.
- Raid Tweaks - Encounter Levels Adjusted — Incompatible. Compass is using an updated variation on this mod.
- Blind Pokémon Battles — Unnecessary; included in Compass.
- Expanded Wild Pokémon — Incompatible. Compass is using all new spawn rules, many versions updated from this old mod.
- Go Bagless — Unnecessary; included in Compass.
- No Trade Evolutions & More — Would override and break all of the Compass-added evolution methods.
- Suicune and Virizion Paradoxes' Raids Everywhere and Wild Suicune and Virizion Paradoxes — Would break Compass raids and all of Compass' wild spawns.
Other Incompatibilities
- Any randomizer's results.
- Any mod which changes anything with trainers. Not only will you lose every trainer change Compass makes, but your raid allies will also be broken late-game.
- Any mod that is not specifically updated for Teal Mask and Indigo Disk compatibility, or is not up to using the current version. This isn't a Compass thing — don't use mods that aren't compatible with at least version 3.0 if you are up-to-date.
Personal Preference
These mods are compatible, in that they overwrite similar changes to Compass and will not break core components to the mod, but they are more a matter of personal preference. We do not recommend them in conjunction with Compass, as we feel that the changes we have made to these same sections of the game result in a better overall feel while playing the game, but this is subjective.
- Instant Eggs During Picnic — Compass modifies egg spawn rules, which this mod does not, and egg appearance timing — and it won't spam fill your boxes with eggs.
- Faster Battles — Compass already includes such a change without cutting into animation timings.
- Glide Forever (with Moon Jump) — Compass makes changes to the way the mount works and includes infinite gliding but not in such a way to introduce new sequence breaks.
- Ride Free — Similar to Glide Forever, but with a different balance in mind.
- Run Speed & Slope Tolerance and Stop Slipping — Can lead to some weird floating issues and temporary soft-lock loops, though none of which are game-breaking.
You can find a bit more detail on some of the incompatibilities, such as with SV+ especially, here in the documentation.
