About this mod
On the Talos 1 station, the deadly aliens known as the Typhon have killed nearly everyone. And mimics have killed more crew members than all of the other Typhon combined. You can’t do anything for your fallen comrades, but you can get some payback. This mod will give you all the tools you need to deal out some death.

Mimic Hunter 1.00
This original version of the mod was was clearly a merging of ideas from many different sources. But it was also in some ways unique. The first one being that when addressing issues with the game, I tried to use a scalpel rather of a hammer. The goal wasn't to make the game super easy or to give you every chipset, resource, or fabrication plan the first hour of the game. It was to fix obvious problems and to adjust the balance of the game to make it more fun for a casual player. And the other thing that is pretty unique is the use of mimics to pull that off. While we can all come together behind our shared hatred of mimics, they were chosen for another reason. Mimics are the most abundant Typhon in the game. Which means that in terms of loot, they are the most relevant. By changing the loot dropped by the two types of mimics, you can alter the entire balance of the game. Plus blasting a bunch of mimics, sounds like a good time. So, there is no real down side to this.
Mimic Hunter 2.00
In the second version of the mod, the loot system has been overhauled to make it even better than before. In the original mod, there were loot requirements for special items. That was dropped in this version in exchange for an improvement in the numbers and types of items. The numbers of items were reduced somewhat, but additional items were now added. There are six types of ammo which are randomly chosen from for each mimic. And then each mimic also drops one of four different types of grenades. Not to mention one chipset for either your suit or your psychoscope and a randomly selected fabrication plan. And then you also receive spare parts, a weapons upgrade kit, and a neuromod. Two of each of those last three items with greater mimics. Stack sizes for ammo, grenades, spare parts, and weapons upgrade kits have been all set to 10,000 to allow them to be stored more easily in Prey 2017's limited inventory space. You can use the unlimited ammo feature, or you can stock up on a huge supply from mimic drops and other sources. And of course you still have most of your original mimic hunting gear on the body of Grete Mikkelsen. Not to mention some new optional bonus items on the body of Patricia Varma. And while mimics are still the primary source of loot drops, the fabrication plans for the Q-Beam weapon and Artax Propulsion System were added to the loot drops of the technopaths to offer a second way to obtain them aside from the normal quests in hardware labs. And in case you happen to be wondering, fabrication plans can't be damaged by recycler grenades. And neither can important keycards on bodies nearby.
Talos 1 Lobby Update
Along with the Mimic Hunter 2.00 download, there a is level.pak file which updates the Talos 1 Lobby. It made sense that being second in command of the space station should open some doors for Morgan, and this update definitely makes that happen. The Trauma Center, the two locked offices inside, and the Teleconference office are now unlocked. But because there are at least three different alternative methods to enter the Security Office, there will no longer be a keycard available for it. That card has been turned into a keycard for the IT Closet. The other cards have been turned into other useful cards that the game has made bothersome to find. That would be cards for GUTS Fuel Storage, Atmospheric Control, and the Blackbox Lab. This greatly reduces the need search the station for keycards. Aside from those located in pychotronics for crew cabins and the one in the arboretum for the captain's crew quarters, the remaining keycards should be in the same division of the station as the doors they open. JerryTerry's Natural Day 2 Start mod and Tsundereployer's Apartment Intro Skip mod were the inspiration for this lobby update. They edit the simulation lab level to skip the game intro. This, along with some additional research, taught me what I needed to know in order to fix the keycard issues in the game. This lobby update isn't necessary to make the Mimic Hunter mod work or vice versa, but it's a great addition to the game.
