  • Palace Jam 1-Stygian Quake II Compatibility (in one step)

    How to play Stygian Quake II with the newly released Palace Jam 1 map pack from Map-Center

    With today's release of Map-Center's Palace Jam 1 (https://www.moddb.com/games/quake-ii-rerelease/addons/quake-2-re-release-palace-jam-1), I figured I'd give it a playthrough using Stygian Quake II. Thankfully I can report that it is fully compatible with only one simple file swap.

    Because Palace Jam 1 comes bundled with its own game_x64.dll file - which from what I can tell is the same one found in Quake II PSX - you will need to replace that with the game_x64.dll from Stygian Quake II. That's it.

    Regardless of whether you use Stygian Quake II, you should definitely give Palace Jam 1 a try!

  • 1.2 and 1.2.1 Changelogs with Comments

    Changes from 1.2 -> 1.2.1

    BUGFIXES
    Weapons
    Shotgun, Super Shotgun, Grenade & Launcher:
    Fixed end of fire animation being cut off. Technically this is the same as the chaingun fix below; the issue was just less noticeable on these weapons.

    Chaingun:
    Fixed spindown animation not playing. The real reason I made this update. Turns out the last fix introduced this new fun bug. I really hope I'm done with this thing. ...Who am I kidding?

    CHANGELIST
    Enemies
    Icarus & Daedalus:
    Increased damage dealt per shot from 1 -> 1-2 (50%). Xansaibot7's argument was compelling; Icarus and Daedalus attacks basically just tickle you despite the fact that they're ostensibly meant to be scarier than the little f...

  • 1.1 and 1.1.1-hotfix Changelogs with Comments

    Changes from 1.1 -> 1.1.1-hotfix

    Weapons
    Chaingun:
    Fixed firing sound. I managed to accidentally make it sound like it was only shooting as fast as the machinegun, even though it wasn't, due to how the silencer charge-saving code works.

    Changes from 1.0 -> 1.1

    Weapons
    Blaster:
    Increased damage vs. inanimate objects from 15 -> 20 (33%). This is mostly so you can one-shot your own prox mines if you mislaid them, like I always do. I should figure out if I can make their hitboxes smaller while they're airborne...
    Shotgun:
    Increased fire rate by 2 "frames," from 10 -> 8 (20%). Makes it feel a little more nimble - it is one of your smaller weapons, after all - and helps further increase DPS to ...

    I just uploaded the files for the 1.2 patch; some of them were quarantined unfortunately, it should be resolved eventually hopefully, you can use the ModDB mirrors for now if you need the 1.1 -> 1.2 patch or the source files. The full 1.2 download is there, though, so that's good!

    Thanks for playing!...

  • quake2 extreme maps

    All you have to do is kill up to 350 monsters on each map. Maybe the maps with the most monsters to kill pay attention. I did not create the maps. I did edit them. All credit goes to the creators of the maps. The creators did a very good job. That's why I chose these maps.

    put all bsp files in maps folder see the path
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Quake 2\rerelease\baseq2\MAPSafter this open console by click on ~
    IN CONSOLE TYPE map rtq2Now all that's left is to kill as many as possible. If there is a demand I will look for additional maps for my changesyou can play coop online...
