GameStop added as affiliate

GameStop has now been added to the list of affiliates available to purchase from in our affiliate store. GameStop are one of the largest video game retailers in the US so if you're planning to buy any games in the near future, or pre-order Fallout: New Vegas, for example, then you might like to do it through them.

A big thank you to the people who have been using the affiliate links to buy items online and a reminder, as I get asked this a lot, that you don't need to just use the links for buying games and hardware. If you're buying books for school or leisure, or clothing, it doesn't matter, the Nexus sites will still get a small commission on everything you buy from affiliates.

    GameStop is the Kmart of the gaming distrubution community -- Half their stuff is returned used merchandise which about half of that has one issue or another. Combine that with unknowledgeable staff and they rank right around zero on my willing to purchase from list.

    I'm not very fond of GameStop myself. One of their big draws is the resale of used games, systems and DVD, Many of which they didn't test before they resold to the public. Also their stores are rather big on selling their discount for used games and magazine. Really that use to be a choice of EGM, PSM and one other.
    New games and systems their better at, Bought all 6 of my last generation consoles from them. Local store here also started out as a big PC game store before the release of the Xbox and PS@ when that entire wall was moved to a dinky little double sided book shelf.

    If you get a digital download than you should be alright with the links. You might have to pay a bank fee for an international transaction though, so I'd be careful.

    If you're ordering online, which you would have to be to use the affiliate system, it doesn't matter where their physical stores are.

    That said... the only reason to order from GameStop instead of Amazon would be if the game came with a store-specific Pre-Order bonus you desperately wanted.

    I don't think we have any of those stores where I live, mayby in the big cities, but not here. I guess it's a good thing so congrats to all that help Nexus that way.
