About this mod
Replaces Matt Murphy's original classic MIDI soundtrack with Ebbelboiz's remade soundtrack. Tracks from both his 2011 and 2022 versions.

Songs from 1994's cult classic spaceship shooter Raptor: Call of the Shadows' stellar soundtrack (originally by Matt Murphy) have been remade by fans for decades, but few have remade the entire soundtrack. Ebbelboiz did most of it in 2011, and would later do it entirely in a different style in 2022.
I've converted Ebbelboiz's 2011 soundtrack to .wav files for Raptor's 2015 Edition, filling in the gaps with tracks from the 2022 version.
Installation:
The .wav files are stored in the /data folder of your Raptor installation. Overwrite the existing .wav files (or back them up, I guess).
If you're using the Steam version, right-click on the game in your Library and choose Manage > Browse local files to quickly get to its directory.
Extract them there and you're cleared for takeoff.
Uninstallation:
Verify the installation to redownload the original Matt Murphy soundtrack if you want.
Known Issues:
Some tracks don't loop super cleanly. If you're listening closely, you can hear. I didn't compose these tracks and I'm not going to edit any of the audio; sorry.
F.A.Q. (theoretical/simulated; no one's asked me anything):
Q: Will this run on the Steam Deck?
A: Yep. I copied my installation folder with the modded music from my computer to a USB drive, and then copied that over the Steam Deck's Raptor installation in the Deck's Desktop Mode. Launch the game from SteamOS like normal and you'll have Ebbelboiz's songs as your BGM.
Q: Will this work with the 2010 Edition of the game, which used to be available on GOG?
A: I don't know. I think that one uses .wav BGM, so it might. Give it a shot. If you really want me to look into it, let me know. I could reinstall the 2010 Edition and see.
Q: Wait, Raptor's 2010 Edition isn't on GOG anymore?
A: I'm just as surprised as you are. I didn't notice it'd been delisted until a friend asked me about it. Oh crap, this is an actual question someone asked me!
Q: Why did you use Ebbelboiz's 2011 songs instead of the 2022 versions?
A: I don't like the 2022 versions. They generally don't feel as fittingly metal as the 2011 versions, I find. I've used 2022 tracks to replace the original soundtrack songs that didn't get Ebbelboiz'd in 2011.
Q: Why this remake of the soundtrack and not, say, Raptor Symphony?
A: I feel Ebbelboiz's 2011 rock soundtrack captured the mood of the game and Matt Murphy's original score. As much as I respect Raptor Symphony's atmospheric sound, it's not what I want to play the game to -- but you could make your own soundtrack mod for it, if you'd like!
Q: How in the hell could you omit Greifenstein's metal cover of raptor2?
A: I love that track, don't get me wrong, but the purpose of this mod wasn't for me to pick and choose my favourite Raptor songs from across the internet and make some kind of curated playlist (but you could if you want to!). (As an aside, I did that as a Youtube playlist years ago if you're interested.) It was to make a soundtrack replacer using Ebbelboiz' 2011 soundtrack.
Q: Where did you find the artwork for the mod's header?
A: It's a rotated cropped photo of the painting that would be used as the boxart, framed on the wall of Scott Miller's office, which he showed me on Twitter. He and Scott Host were very kind in our online interactions.
Q: Any idea why Harrold's Death Emporium renamed to "Harrold's Weapons Emporium" in the 2010 Edition and 2015 Edition?
A: No, and developer Scott Host didn't know they were renamed in the re-releases until I told him on Twitter.
Q: Why are you playing Bravo 6 over and over without finishing it?
A: I'll tell you when you're older.
