*Laughs* Well, fortunately it was a bluff. This is a mission which requires 2 to 4 people to do it. I get stuck playing with strangers on them because I don't know anyone else yet who plays RDO for PC. In each of these missions there's a choice where you can do the nice thing or the mean thing, but the people doing the mission have to vote which they do. Fortunately this mission everyone voted to let them free. They could have voted to let a train run them over, but I didn't really want to do that and was glad it didn't happen :)
As for the texture, yeah, one of the things I've been doing in many of my last 20 or so photos is to put a cloth texture on the non-person parts of the painting. It gives a bit of a surreal, layered look to it. Here are some examples:
