Introduction
I always found it very annoying how there was no middle ground between walking at a snails pace, and a hasty jog. This only annoyed me further because there is a perfectly fine brisk walk animation available and fully functional in the game already, but for some reason you can only use it at camp.
I present to you Fast Walking Outside Camp! A mod I've wanted since the PS4 release of the game, but never had the smarts to make. Well here it finally is, so y'all can FWOC off anywhere you want now.

How to FWOC
The mod is toggled on and off with the 'Push to Talk' key (N by default). Rebind this key as you see fit through the keybinds menu ingame.
FWOC has two versions: fancy FWOC which I have done several playthroughs now with and highly recommend, and basic FWOC which I have mostly neglected over the years but still works just fine!
Fancy FWOC
Not really intended for keyboard and mouse, sorry! There's basic FWOC and some other alternatives on the nexus like Walking Control Complete you can also try. With that out of the way:
Tapping sprint will increment your speed slightly. While pressing the stick all the way, tap sprint once to start fast walking, increment your speed from there to an even faster walk and various sprint speeds. Very granular control compared to basic!
Slightly releasing your left stick input will decrease your speed to a previous increment. If you want, you can keep sprint held while doing this to 'remember' your last speed so you can return to it when you input left stick all the way again.
Basic FWOC
Gamepad - With your left stick, you can now precisely control your walking speed all the way to the brisk walking speed you get when 'running' in camp.
Keyboard - You will always fastwalk, but can toggle back to normal walking speed with the Push to Talk key (I recommend you rebind this).
Installation
This mod requires Scripthook, either V2 Scripthook or Alexander Blade's ScriptHook.
Simply place FastWalk.asi in your Red Dead Redemption 2 folder, the same folder you can find an executable called `PlayRDR2`.
Uninstallation
Remove FastWalk.asi from your Red Dead Redemption 2 folder. This mod can be safely installed and uninstalled at any time.
Known issues
On very few occasions , FWOC can cause weird behavior during walking sections in cutscenes. Nothing game breaking, but you might sometimes lag behind npc's during certain dramatic walks... Use the toggle key (bound to Push To Talk) to turn the mod off during these sections if you want.

Reading the source code of other mod authors has helped me immensely in figuring out how to start scripting. For this game, and others. To promote the sharing of knowledge, I have added the source code in the misc downloads section.
