Place the save file in your save file folder (on Windows: C:/Users/<username>/Saved Games/Remnant2/Steam/<numbers/) and rename it to the save file of your current character. For me, this was save_2.sav.
BE SURE YOU BACKUP YOUR SAVE FILES FIRST!
One you get the Archer's Crest, you can restore your old save file to restore your map progress.
