Hey, I'm back with a new mod, Leon wears Claire's Jacket (wow, what an imaginative name, I know). Pretty decent if I do say so myself, although there is some clipping, especially around the neck area. Couldn't manage to fix it, but it's still pretty good. For the most part, the mod uses Claire's assets to alleviate file size (it's only about 15 mb when unpacked), but the jacket textures are separate in case you're using a retexture for Claire and don't want Leon to look the same or something. I also included an optional dark blue retexture (a fitting color for our boi Leon) to showcase this. If you DO want Leon to use the same retextures as Claire, all you have to do is copy the file of the retexture in question called pl_1000_jacket_albm (as well as atos and nrmr, if they have it) and paste it on the pl0000 folder of this mod. You'll be asked if you want to replace the already existing files or something like that, so accept. And that's it, you'll have to do that individually for every retexture for Claire though. Let me know if that explanation isn't too clear, as English isn't my first language. The mod also includes dirty variants that will appear if you have the outfit set to normal, in case you don't want them, just delete the pl0000_01 folder and its contents. The outfit replaces the police outfit, as well as the injured police outfit for a seamless transition between the two. If you DON'T want it to replace the injured police outfit (since it's the same outfit, just dirty), all you have to do is delete the objectroot folder and its contents. I also included outfit selection screen image replacements using Photoshop instead of GIMP, but frankly they're even worse than the ones from my last mod so I think I'll just stick to what I know and keep using GIMP for making them. Oh and also, technically the mod uses some textures and stuff from the sheriff outfit for the arms, but if I implemented it right then you shouldn't need to own the outfit for it to work.
To install it, just drop it in the RE2R Mods folder of FluffyQuack's Mod Manager, then activate the corresponding version in the Mod Manager. Obviously, keep in mind you can't use the normal version and the blue version at the same time.
Known issues: -Some clipping, mostly during cutscenes -The wetmask issue is still present, although I think I know the cause. If you're interested, I believe it's because Leon's police outfit (both the injured and normal versions) doesn't have a normal wetmask. See, for some reason it's located in an entirely different folder and trying to replace it still doesn't makes it work, maybe because of the way the outfit is programmed or something. This isn't the case with other outfits that DO have a wetmask in their main folder, so while I won't change the outfit this mod replaces, it's something to keep in mind for future mods. I suspect the weird way the bloodmask appears (if at all) is somehow related to this as well, as both the bloodmasks for all outfits and the wetmasks for Leon's police outfits are located in the vfx folder. And that's pretty much it I think, if you find any other bugs do let me know.
And again, if anyone wants to try their hand at improving this mod or making your own version of it, be my guest! Just be sure to credit me.
Special thanks: - Raq, for his amazing mod tutorial - floppity-flips also for her great mod tutorial - tora neko on Youtube, who also has an excellent mod tutorial I recently rediscovered after first finding it a couple years ago. - And finally, credits to the entire RE Modding Community for their tutorials, tools, and documentations on this game, especially AlphaZ, FluffyQuack, Crazy Potato, ALISTER, and JThegiusKittius. This mod (or any RE Engine mod really) wouldn't be possible without them. So thank you!
And that's all. Hope you like my mod, stay tuned for more to come (I know, I know, I sound like a news anchor), and if you like, please endorse. Thank you :)
