- Realistic rate of fire for most guns and select fire mode.
- Includes new pistol animations
- Steadier hold animations
- Animation bug fixes from the original game
- Increased bullet range, penetration for LE5 (1 enemy) and Minigun (4 enemies).
- Selective Fire - Fire mode can be changed from default to semi-auto but this requires a steam input profile for your specific controller (easiest method) or DS4Windows can be used with included profiles.
This mod is similar to my mod for RE4 but I wasn't able to get semi-auto working without using a steam profile. There is a small enough delay in between trigger pulls so the pistols don't shoot too fast but they will shoot continuously if you hold down the trigger if you do not use the steam input profile.
TO CHANGE FIRE MODE (Default/Semi-Auto):
If you want true semi-auto/change fire modes, you will have to use a steam input profile with a PS5 or Xbox controller. I will try to add PS4 and Nintendo switch controller profiles when I have time. Alternatively, you can make your own profile if you copy the settings. I'll try to post those instructions later. This method is the easiest but might have rumble issues with full auto weapons. For flawless rumble download the "Selective Fire" profile files for DS4Windows under main files. If using DS4Windows, be sure to DISABLE steam input.
Steam Input Method for Selective Fire
If
1. In steam, right-click on Resident Evil 2 from the game list menu.
2. Go to "Controller" and select "Enable Steam Input"
3. Select "Controller Configurator"
4. Select the layout
5. Go to community layouts and look for “Resident Evil 2: RE2 Semi-Auto/Change Fire Mode Layout” by ErwinGunsmith
6. Enable semi-auto in game by clicking the right stick (R3). Revert back to default by clicking the right stick again.
If someone can help me write a script to disable the loop shooting, please reach out.
