RE4 VR MODDING GUIDE AND HOW TO PORT ANY UHD MODS TO VR!

If you want to change some of the skins/other mods inside the OBB look here

Installation Process:

All you have to do is replace the patch OBB file of RE4 VR inside your Quest!

1. Plug your Quest to your PC (allow the access of files inside the Quest once plugged to PC, through the big popup or under notifications)

2. Go to the device files (Internal Shared Storage), then "Android", then "OBB", then "com.Armature.VR4", and replace the patch OBB there!

3. You're done, enjoy and good luck!

This process might be possible without dev mode, or without a PC if you use some file managers directly on Quest or something but I am not sure about either. I've always had dev mode on and never used those kinda file manager apps on my Quests.

The mod has been fully tested and beaten on professional new game without Ashley's armor using Quest 3! Should work for other Quest devices aswell, but the insane amount of enemies in some spots might be too much for the Quest 1 and/or it might cause FPS drops on Quest 2 for example, so be aware!

Includes:
  • All of the custom ROE gun firing sounds!

  • Extreme Condition enemy voices!

  • Custom soundtrack from ROE! (About 80/90% of them are here, some less important ones had to be left out of the main release due to the Android OBB size limit of 4GB)

  • Custom new thicker grey fog for the entire game! (Feel free to also increase the Contrast in the ingame video settings, I personally had that set to around 50 while using the new grey fog!)

  • Custom new glove skin (Gloves are no longer super flat and washed out!)

  • And a few more extra skins are also included for other characters/items for fun!

Things you should still know even if you've already played Rising before:

  • Roomscale is recommended just for the general gameplay style, to reach some specific items and grab them, and especially for some areas like at the end of Krauser's fight, with the statues needing to be moved in a specific order. Need to physically move to reach some of the specific statue obstacles for example

  • Human Saddler enemy had to be removed from Luis death room in the lower level (Since SW was sadly never included in RE4 VR and he's just invisible in VR)

  • Ashley's two areas had to be blocked when you try to return to them as Leon because in VR they wipe your entire inventory as Leon (thanks Armature...). You are simply given the third Ornament piece for free in Luis's death room, you'll find it easily don't worry!

  • Extra item stacking for health/grenades or 10 to 20 Magnum ammo isn't a thing anymore due to no possible UHD exe/dll style modding for VR outside the APK (which I won't go into details here)
The Merchant also no longer has the largest attaché case at the beginning of New Game before the ValleySo you'll have to sell some guns at specific points and/or rebuy them later and do more item management in between it all, but in VR everything is way easier and more forgiving, so if you play well and know what you're doing this is fine!

Sadly modding stages in VR makes some dynamic and custom objects (like some walls Rising adds) in the environment invisible but still fully work as intended, and it affects manual VR things of only five rooms, manual interactions and levers and buttons in every other rooms are completely fine! Even for example the newly added by ROE levers in the U3 section work manually in VR perfectly!

  • First room is Castle Catapults, the lever to bring up the Cannon is gone, so there's now triggers to go through the big gate

  • Second is the Sword room just after the Catapults, the Sword items had to be restored to their original spots, in Rising it adds magnum in their spots but that broke the puzzle for VR, so now the ammo is added on the table in the first floor after killing the enemies iirc

  • Third is the first room of Ashley's playable section, the levers for the gates are gone and so triggers to skip them have been added. The last lever where you put the Insignia in does not disappear though and just goes to show how weird and random it is for only a few other levers to break when modding stages

  • Fourth room that has weird lever behavior is Salazar Statue room, because in VR the levers were only designed to be pulled in one way physically, so the first cutscene where Zealots lower the bridge had to be brought back, since in Rising that cutscene was removed

  • Fifth room is the area before the Bulldozer section, the two levers for the puzzle are gone, so now you don't have to worry about the puzzle anymore. Just go through the normal Rising unlock trigger before of course

Some advices if you're new to Rising:

  • Save your Rifle ammo for Novistadors, and absolutely always headshot the Novistadors with the rifle, feel free to bait them into letting you doing a kick so you can get easy headshots on them

  • Gigantes with extra accessories on them usually have way, way more health and should absolutely be hit with a direct RPG shot

  • Once you get the Magnum, you need to save as much Magnum ammo as possible and always line up shots between mutliple stronger enemies

  • Do not feel bad for being confused at times where some triggers, secret items, item drops etc are and feel free to watch 2D playthroughs of the mod or the official guide on the Extreme Condition Youtube channel

  • Always save whenever you get the chance to and save on different slots!

  • Use your TMP or other methods to aggro potential enemies in new rooms before entering them, you never know what might be waiting behind the next door!

  • It's also okay to skip some enemies here and there, if you dont think they drop anything useful or aren't worth your time for whatever reason it might be!

  • The Bolt Action Rifle is one weapon I never sold in my VR playthrough, it's not very big it does a lot of damage once fully upgraded, you do not need the Semi-Auto Rifle later on

There's probably some things I might be forgetting to mention but in any case, I hope you guys will enjoy this new more exciting and/or immersive way to play such a fun, crazy and sometimes BS classic RE4 mod by Luis Webber!
