Update: Going online with this save resets the spoof. Offline players are fine to use this save as is. Those who want to go online; have gone online with this save and lost the suits; or who otherwise have an existing save in which they want to unlock the suits, here's the tool for you.
With Returnal's release on PC, the pre-order promotional skins were made available to players who link a PlayStation Network account to their Steam or Epic accounts. For those of us who don't have a PSN account; don't want to link their accounts; or who only play offline, these suits are typically inaccessible.
Returnal's savedata stores a surprising amount of information - including whether a PSN account has been linked, and if so, which account. So, I whipped up a fresh save, linked a PSN account, and dummied out the account information in a hex editor.
This save will start you on a new cycle, right after your first death, with the Prototype Suit equipped. Suits can be changed by accessing the storage locker in your ship.
