Lightweight Regeneration / Immortality mod.
- When spawned, pawns will have a chance to be a Celestial, by default 0.01 (1%) and can be configured in settings. (Humans only by default, however you can also configure other races in the settings)
- Celestials will resurrect after a given time (can be changed in settings).
- Celestials set off a large EMP explosion when they resurrect (can be changed in settings).
- Celestials heal passively when alive, including regeneration of limbs. Yes you can keep prisoners and produce infinite body parts from them, even if they die from the harvesting.
- Celestials can still receive scars as they are not damage so much as imperfections in healing.
- Celestials can only be killed permanently by destroying the body before resurrection happens. Fire, cremation, explosives, cave-in, take your pick.
- Celestials do feel pain, if you don't want that try this patch by Adronius.

This does not take up a trait slot, several people have mentioned that they thought it did for some reason, but I make a point of not taking up trait slots for things that are not personality based.

Should be compatible with everything that matters. It's as simple and vanilla as possible really. Probably will have issues with things that do similar, like an Archotech implant that also resurrects.

Include a HugsLib log using Ctrl+F12 in-game with any bug report, regardless of if you see an error, without a log I can't help.
Known Issues:
  • Starter pawns showing as Celestials after landing despite not having it during "character creation".
The way this mod decides if a pawn is a Celestial or not is based on % chance in the settings AFTER they spawn. This means it won't show during scenario prep as they have not technically spawned at this point. You can add the hediff manually and it'll make them a Celestial if you want to force it, though there are developer debug options specifically for doing this once you start the save. It being hidden during character creations is intentional, it's the way I wanted it.

  • Why not just use Immortals?
If you want to, go ahead, makes no difference to me. People have commented that you can safely use both, however I won't help with any issues that might come from that.
  • Can you add X option?
    Nope.
  • Can I turn my pawns into a Celestial? (Cheat)
Yes, use devmode in the game settings, there are additional debug actions for making a pawn Celestial and removing it from them (making them mortal).
  • Can another modder make an addon that does this with an item?
Of course! I'll even change this question and link it here instead if it's good.
  • Does this impact TPS?
There's very little reason it would, the comp checks fairly irregularly for if they should resurrect and it's not exactly complicated so it should be marginal if any impact at all.
  • Will this work on animals/non-humanlikes?
By default no, only Humans are affected. You can change what races are covered in the settings though!
  • How long did it take to make this?
    About 3 hours.
