Well, today I bring you a mod to help solve or at least reduce this very problem! This mod gives capable pawns a much-needed mood boost while they are drafted, rewarding their combat skills. It recognizes that skilled fighters might actually feel more focused or confident when put to the task, rather than just suffering from being unable to fulfill their other needs.
Draft Mood Mod features
Your pawns receive a mood bonus while in draft mode. (If they have sufficient combat skill)
- Skilled Combatant Buff: Pawns whose Shooting OR Melee skill is above a certain level (the 'Skilled' threshold) get a positive mood thought. They feel competent holding the line.
- Master Combatant Buff: Pawns who reach an even higher level (the 'Master' threshold) in either Shooting OR Melee get a larger mood buff. They feel like true professionals, unfazed by the pressure (mostly!).
Fully Customizable!
Head over to the Mod Settings menu to adjust everything to your liking:
- You can change the skill level required for both the Skilled and Master buffs (Defaults are Level 7 for Skilled, Level 15 for Master).
- You can change the amount of mood bonus each buff provides. I initially set them to +5 and +10, but that felt a bit too strong in testing. So, the current default mood bonuses are +3 for Skilled and +7 for Master. Feel free to increase or decrease these values to fit your game's balance!
Reward your dedicated fighters and hopefully watch fewer of them break when you need them most!
