About this mod

This is just a zip containing my save state going into Midnight after completing 100% of the map objectives and quests available in every region of the game for ONE playthrough on Twilight difficulty (i.e., I didn't do all possible branches of every quest).

Not that it matters to 99.999% of you, but I beat the game by reloading manual saves if I went down in any fight. This save data has therefore never triggered the Vendetta mechanic and the protagonist has never been downed in a fight that made it into the final save state of my manual save files.

I have not done anything in Midnight difficulty in this save data. I completed many but not all of the training duels (only the ones that unlocked skills for weapons I planned to use). I have never played Dawn or Dusk in this save data.

And, yes, I beat the Blue Demon during the tutorial for his accessory, so you will have access to that. I do not know if it will retroactively give you the achievement when you load the save if you have not won that fight before.

To use this data:

  • Unzip the provided zip file.
  • Move everything in that zip file to %UserProfile%\Documents\KoeiTecmo\Ronin\Savedata\YOUR-ID-NUMBER\
Note: You can use the Run command (Windows + R) in Windows to open Savedata directly by simply entering %UserProfile%\Documents\KoeiTecmo\Ronin\Savedata\ in the Open field of the Run window.

Note that I cannot know YOUR-ID-NUMBER above. It will be a very long number and hopefully you'll only have one option. If not, try them all, I guess?

Please refer to the screenshot in Images if the above instructions are not clear enough for you. Good luck and happy hunting.

UPDATE: Users have made me aware that some of you hope to merge my saves into your game without entirely deleting or replacing your own. I was not aware that this could be complicated or how it would be done, because I simply replace my whole folder when I want to load an alternate save file in this or any other game. However, if you are hoping to keep your files and load them adjacent to mine, you may have success following the Nioh 2 save file merging guide recommended by d4rkxcviii (thanks for the info):

Guide here in this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/nioh2/mods/97

Using my SAVEDATA00, I took lines 10/11/12/13 from my SAVEDATA.BIN. I then used the SAVEDATA01 folder from this mod, replacing the lines 10/11/12/13 in SAVEDATA.BIN, SAVEDATA.BIN.BAK, BACKUP.BIN, and BACKUP.BIN.BAK within this folder. I did it to all those as precaution. After saving those, I just added the entire SAVEDATA01 Folder, not replacing my SAVEDATA00.

I have not yet confirmed whether this is necessary for people who intend to entirely overwrite their save folder with mine (in which case of course I recommend backing up your folder). I've also noticed that I do not *have* any file called SAVEDATA.BIN.BAK or BACKUP.BIN.BAK in SAVEDATA01, and I'm not sure if this discrepancy is a consequence of the d4rkxcviii playing a different version of the game, or having some kind of early access version of the save files, or mixing them up with Nioh 2 save files, or what; d4rkxcviii may have backed up SAVEDATA.BIN and BACKUP.BIN by adding .BAK before doing this, and that detail may have been lost in translation. I posted the suggestion with only grammatical edits above in case someone needs to edit all four of the above files, but I suspect many of you may only need to edit two files (assuming you don't replace your entire folder, which I would still expect to work more effortlessly).
