So that you can learn Umbrology at the earlier stage of the game.
Even you may get Salamanders to learn Umbrology ;p

Is it harmless to Game progress?

I can't ensure complete safety.
Especially in the case you allow the volcano to explode.
I recommend you to use this mod only for the path to save Salamanders with getting Umbrology, if you keep it safe.
Also I recommend you to enable this mod at the new game (or at least new game plus).
So that you can learn Umbrology at the earlier stage of the game.
