This mod tweaks with little things in the game that really makes me mad (like the enemies with the freaking katanas!) specially some difficulty spikes. Also, this mod brings back a DS Estus lke mechanic, for the HP and MP potions and also for the ammunition, its also makes some specific enemies to drop MP tokens.

This game is weird, nothing make much sense to me, the wodden shield have more stamina block than the knight shield, the two armors classes do not differ much in terms of overall def and even their poises bonuses seems like very close , and the heavy class armors are REALLY heavy, you have to invest like 30 levels to just normal roll with them.

Them there is the estus mechanic, that doest not make much sense either, I mean, you can't REALLY run out from the material for pots since its like in every single place on the game, same goes for ammo, but it can be a little bit more rare, also you can just resupply it on the run (to a limit to be fair, but even so, whats the point?!).

And what is wrong with all the difficulty spikes?! Like the shooters traps on the second and third maps! And the katana guys! Just why?! It makes the game frustrating, besides being totally beatable, I've rolling out by the stages most of the time instead of clear the place killing enemies and having fun.

I don't think its a bad game though, but it sure had less love than sanctuary, everything seens so "whatever" or feels like the same all the time that makes me fell they added some 'git gud' elements just because. 

So, apart being salty (get it? Because the title of the game have salt on it...? Yeah, bad pun sorry) I've tried my best to tweak the game with the tools I had access to. Mind that Im not a developer, just a tech savy stuborn guy.

Here is the rap:

Heavy armors:
50% more def
100% more poise
and 30% lightier

Light armors:
15% more def
50% more poise
and 30% lightier too.

All whips cause more poise damage (like Dark Souls), and katanas and rapiers are faster, also the royal weapons are all buffed on speed.

The vanguards blocking stamina cost are all redone:
Redscar: 52,5
Skaling: 22,5
rootspoken: 60
knight: 52,5
paladin: 67,5
tempest: 52,5
frostpick: 60
dawn: 67,5
tremor: 60
wyrm: 75
Royal: 67,5

As it is stated before, the three main consumables, HP and MP potions and  ammo, works pretty like dark souls, you just need to sit on the bonfire to regain they. In exchange, you cannot restock ammo on the field, you have to deal with the one you have and return to get more. Other itens are still just the same. Since you don't need valley herb and ore anymore, the drops have all been changed to redberry and silver (though you might find some here and there, don't ask me why).

Mind that if you use this mod with old saves, you will need to have the inquisitor dagger so it can restore the consumables, if you have sold it already you will cannot restore potions or ammo.

Multiplayer is dead? No problem! You can drop the MP tokens from mobs on the maps too! The tokens drops from the mobs that are in the map that you find the vendor. Exemple, the dawn token drop from some mobs on the first map, but they are rare, the same goes for blueheart, but with other mobs. Have fun finding them, good luck =)


For the mobs change:
burnt enemies are less annoying, easier to kill and weaker, sometimes they was stronger than the regular mobs! And the constant respawning doesnt help either.
Katana guys and clerics does something like 40-50% less damage.
Skinskitter, Shambling Guts and Red Baronet does like 15-20% less damage.
Dart trap, Octobow trap (the ones on the ceiling) and Spinner trap does 50% less damage.

About the mobs, the math behind them is really weird and unlogical, cleric and katana have the same damage value, but katanas are stronger (and quicker, something that the dev should have in mind when think about the damage!), seens to me that the enemies get some kind of buff from the level too.


To install it just unpack it to the game main folder and replace the files (remember to backup the original files first!).

This modification have been made on 1.0.1.0b, it may work on older versions or maybe not.

As I said, I got a lot of fun (and frustration) playing the vanilla one, but I think its sad that it did not get all the attention and care it deserved. It had a lot of good ideas, a nice story, levels and scenarios, the art is beautiful too.
