To install this mod, follow the same steps as any other mod: drag the files into your mods folder (or whatever you called yours) and then launch the game. From my understanding, this mod doesn't differ in installation from other mods. If you don't have any other mods installed (like skin mods), you should see 8 folders and 1 file in your mods folder. This method works fine for me. One thing to note: only the Inner Genichiro (or Malevolent Genichiro with this mod) might be changed. You could try facing him in the Reflection of Strength. If you don't have him yet you could try to back up your save files and try a save with 100% completion and fight the Inner Genichiro there,  to see if that resolves the issue. However, I wouldn't recommend this as it can corrupt your save files.

    And because you asked...

Steps to install a mod, in this case Sekiro Malevolence.
    1. Download the Sekiro Malevolence.
    2. Extract the Sekiro Malevolence.
    3. Locate your mods folder.
3.1. If you don't have a mods folder create it or you don't have the Sekiro Mod Engine, download the Sekiro Mod Engine.
3.2. Extract the Sekiro Mod Engine.
3.3. Drag and drop the files from the Sekiro Mods Engine into your game directory.
    3.4. Create a mods folder.
3.5. Open the modengine.ini file and find modOverrideDirectory: "\..."
3.6. Rename whatever is there (instead of ...) to your mods folder name.
3.7. You've now successfully installed the Sekiro Mod Engine.
3.8. Launch the game once and join your save file to make sure everything is correctly set up (you can exit right after loading in).
3.9. The mods folder should be empty.
    4. Drag and drop the files from the Sekiro Malevolence mod into your mods folder, if it wasn't empty (what would've been the easier way to make sure everything works fine) and there are files to replace, replace them.
    5. Ensure all files are correctly in the mods folder (chr, event, map, menu, msg, param, script, sfx, project.json,).
    6. Launch the game and check if everything looks fine.
    7. If you want you can add any other mod you want, just remember that installing other mods that change files from the Sekiro Malevolence mod could cause or will cause the Sekiro Malevolence mod to stop working correctly.

If you encounter any other issues, feel free to reply. However, I may not be able to help if your questions are too in-depth. But ask away, and I'll do my best to help!

And by sekiro malevolence folder you do mean the sekiro malevolence folder and not the moveset folders?

I am needing an explanation about the move-set folder and the Malevolence folder that you mentioned. What do you mean with them? There isn't a dedicated move-set folder. The Kick edition was the original mod, but after many requests for the vanilla sword move-set, it was brought back with some bug fixes. Both editions (Kick and Sword) change the same things, just with different move-sets. The only difference in the files is that the Sword edition has in the chr folder a _DSAS_PROJECT.json file and two additional folders, _DSAS_CACHE and _DSAS_TEMP, added.

And the question you asked, how I understood it:
By Sekiro Malevolence folder I mean the folders inside the malevolence sword/kick edition.
That your mods folder looks like this, in this example the mods folder is called mods:
      \mods
      chr
      event
      map
      menu
      msg
      param
      script
      sfx
      project.json

If this didn't solve your problems feel free to reply and I will try to help but as stated above if you could explain what you meant by "malevolence folder and not the moveset folders" I may could help you in a better way.

I gotchu so when you go to malevolence and you go to files you see three. One titled sword moveset another titled kick moveset and the old on titled sekiro malevolence. Also I know how to install mods and I've followed the same formula with this one it just doesn't work. I put these folders in the mod folder and it doesnt work. And yes i use multiple mods with this mod but i found out that it wasnt the problem becsuse ive tested the mod without those mods merged and genichiro was doing the same thing still. So idk.
      chr
      event
      map
      menu
      msg
      param
      script
      sfx
      project.json

It sounds like there isn’t a problem with your game nor the mods. You probably fought the normal version of him, but the mod changes the Inner version, which you can fight in the Reflection of Strength. If you don’t have any Reflections of Strength yet, you'll need to complete all gauntlets to unlock all fights in the Reflection of Strength tab or the Divine Heir Gauntlet, which ends with Inner Genichiro. After defeating him, you can find him in the Reflection of Strength tab and fight him as often as you want. As stated at the bottom of the mod page under Custom Boss "You've faced Genichiro Ashina. The one oathbound to his beloved land of Ashina. The one who gave his life for the sake of his motherland. This time you face someone who has nothing left to lose, the one who will go all out to defeat you. You face the 'Malevolent Genichiro'. Under the Relfection of Strength you will find Malevolent Genichiro. So how will you tread? Give in? Or pull through?" which sounds like only this version got changed.

In conclusion, I would say your game isn’t bugged and the mod works fine. You just fought the normal version. To get the fight you’re looking for, face the Inner version, which in this mod is called Malevolent Genichiro. If this still hasn't fixed your Problem, you can ask me and I maybe could help you, but I think that was the problem you encountered.

So just to be sure, this is the version of him you want to fight? Video showcasing the fight. Just to be clear I did this first try and didn't edit it well. Just wanted to show some parts of a the fight, that you could tell me if this is the right one. The video will get taken down in the next days 11th - 12th of October or after you replied.

The version I showed should be correct, as demonstrated in the videos (옹발이 ONGBALGorengan Warkop, RawShinoB 原 忍, SodaUnderscore) you mentioned (they might have used the old version, but the fight remains the same). The newer version of the mod works fine for me. If you added mods, that don't change the Malevolence mod (replace files) or cause issues (like mods that change the Genichiro, in your case), here's what you could try:

Reinstall your game completely (uninstall through Steam, delete the Sekiro folder under steamapps/common/, then reinstall the game).

After adding Mod Engine and Malevolence without any other mods (simple ones like weapon wheel or skin mods should be fine, but try without). Check if it works now. If it does, you can try adding your mods again, one by one and always check if it still works.

If it still doesn't work, your save file might be the issue. Try using a 100% game file or at least one that has the Inner Genichiro already. Backup your original save (located in /C>Users>"username">AppData>Roaming>Sekiro>"YourSteamID") and replace it with the new one.

Hopefully this fixed your problem. If this doesn't fix it, I'm out of ideas.
