Whats New
Tomb Raider eclipse is split into three parts - Outfit + Hair, Animation and Vocal + Music Overhaul Packs. This way you can mix and match, using whichever parts you like.
Lara Croft Redesign - Outfit + Hair Overhaul Pack
The Tomb Raider herself has been overhauled to resemble a mixture of elements from her classic era, ranging from the games, live action models and Angelina Jolie. This includes 28 new outfits and 11 new hairstyles inspired from Lara's many adventures, along with some custom created ones to give choices for fresh new looks. You will also be able to customise Lara even by choose from a variety of optional make-up styles, skin tones, eye and hair colours as well wearing the iconic sunglasses. Outfits and hairstyles come with custom physics. See below for a full outfit list and what they have replaced. The outfit pack also removes the outfit restriction in Paititi.
Animation Redesign - Animation Overhaul Pack
Lara can't just look and sound more confident, her movements need to reflect that with over 100 animations having been reworked. There are so many animations to go through, but all of the major ones such as:
- Walking
- Running
- Jumping
- Climbing
- Melee
- Rolling
- Photo mode poses
These are completely new and reintroduces acrobatic moves into Lara's skill set that have been missing for over a decade.
English Audio Redesign - Vocal + Music Overhaul Pack
To accompany Lara with her new look, her voice will sound more confident by using a deeper voice more in-line with her Classic era. Not only this, but there will be brand new dialogue (performed by me) throughout the game that brings back Lara's legendary adventurous, sarcastic and witty persona. All audible puzzle hints have been silenced to provide a more Classic feel, and allows players to figure out how to complete puzzles on their own. Over 6000 audio files have been replaced primarily focusing on Lara herself, however there has been music changes in certain parts. Subtitles have also been updated to reflect the new dialogue.
New Background
Tomb Raider Eclipse is set in 1998 and follows two significant events. In 1996 when Lara was 21, she was traveling over the Himalayas with her fiancé and two friends to celebrate her completing University when their plane crashed due to an unnatural storm. This caused them to be stranded in a Valley that seemed to defy the laws of nature and unwilling to let anyone trapped leave until the curse that held them there was broken. Lara, using her intelligence and survival instincts, managed to solve the mystery of the Valley - but at the cost of losing everyone, leaving her the sole survivor. In 1997 Lara's new found love for adventure has lead her to join expeditions with her former University Professor Werner Von Croy, who was also a close friend of Lara's father before he passed away. This is where she met Jonah, the teams cook and gained an instant liking to him. The last expedition that they went on lead to uncovering a secret organisation by the name of Trinity who had been following Von Croy's work - but unfortunately this lead to him being killed. Lara, wanting to know why, uses Von Croy's journal to retrace his steps and figure out just want Trinity wants.
This is where Tomb Raider Eclipse starts.

To access all of these outfits you will need to unlock them. If you have not already unlocked them and you do not want to wait to unlock them, download the 100% save game from here and just start a New Game+.

Installation
1. Download the latest version of the SOTTR modding tools that are found here: https://www.nexusmods.com/shadowofthetombraider/mods/185
2. Open the modmanager and just install the .rar's that you are wanting to use
3. Ensure that any OPTIONAL pack you use is installed AFTER the main packs (outfits, animations and/or voice overhaul).
Uninstall
Remove the pack/s from your mod manager.
Compatibility
I highly doubt the Outfit+Hair Overhaul pack would be compatible with any other mods that change Lara's appearance. The animations and voice packs should work with any other appearance mod.
Issues
- Due to the way the outfit restriction removal works, if you die, reload a checkpoint or load a save game whilst in Paititi, the Cenote or Upper Paititi, Lara's outfit will default to either the Cambodian Temple Robes or the Serpent Guard. I did not make the outfit restriction removal (this was created by _ARC) and am unable to change this.
- Similar to the above, the Paititi mission 'Takiy's Dice' that requires you to wear the blue heron robes will not be accessible whilst the mod is installed. A necessary evil to remove the outfit restriction.
- There may be some lines that have not been replaced with the Audio overhaul. I have not come across any that I haven't changed, but in saying that there is over 6k lines that were changed and due to how messy the files are, some may have been missed. If you come across any that have not been changed, please let me know what exactly the line is that she says.
- The vanilla outfits that haven't been modded will appear hairless. This is due to having removing purehair from the game to allow the custom hairstyles.
- The hair shaders in this game are not very good, so when there is water or fire behind the hair, it will sometimes disappear or become patchy. If you are experiencing this issue at all times, users have reported that changing your anti-aliasing method has fixed the issue.
- Child Lara will walk a bit slower and her climbing animations don't match up correctly with where she's placing her feet/hands. This is due to custom animations being imported, which effect both adult and child Lara - and unfortunately the game doesn't like custom animations for child Lara. This also effects her rolling animation.
- Lara's gear will sometimes glitch into odd places during certain animations. I recommend installing the universal gear and weapons hider from the additional mods used section below.
FAQ
Q. Can I use the original Shadow of the Tomb Raider Lara face?
A: Short answer: No. The original face is quite a bit larger than my custom head (which I assume is to compensate the size of pure hair) making it incompatible with the hairstyles and outfits. Not only that, this overhaul is not related to Survivor Lara, however as a compromise I did make the original face texture available in the make-up packs.
Q: Can the hairstyles be made available separately?
A: Pretty much the same answer as above, with the addition that the hairstyles are also designed to collide with a backpack - and survivor Lara doesn't have a backpack.
