Shenmue II Redreamcasted
This mod aims to fix everything they broke in the Japanese audio in the re-release and return it to its Dreamcast form. It contains:
- Restored voice quality: the Dreamcast voice files converted to uncompressed WAVs (in the re-release they're recompressed to xWMA @ 20kbps).
- Uncensored voice tracks: d3t cut and removed some voice tracks, mainly what some npcs think about Yuan.
- Dreamcast lip-sync and voice timings: no more awkward pauses during conversations with npcs.
- ~70 additional (missing) voice tracks.
- The English subtitles from the Dreamcast PAL release, as opposed to the ones from the English dubbed OG Xbox version used by the re-release, except Yuan remains as "he/him".
- Retranslated subtitles for the find (male) Yuan quest.
- As an optional download: Yuan's female voice with the full PAL subtitles.
- The Guilin arrival erhu tune replaced by the Dreamcast one.
And also:
- A more readable notebook font with arrows and stars (fortune tellers symbol) as in the Dreamcast version.
- Higher quality music track for the Intro (runner Shenhua) scene.
To Install (since v1.10)
Just extract the "redreamcasted" folder into steamapps/common/SMLaunch/sm2/archives/dx11/data. Nothing else is required.
