Version 1.01
Finally found the generic "Haha" the player makes while sliding down the ship's rail; modded and added in.
Version 1.0
Original upload
The Sea Vixen by theincrediblenick is one of my favorite Pirates! mods, but hearing your lady pirate give that deep, male, "Hahaha!" after winning a duel doesn't really work. So, I decided to see if I could do something.
Mostly the files are straight from the Pirates! "Assets" folder and tone-shifted to get them into a higher register. I also adapted a couple of clips of female laughter out of the dance sequences, lowering and stretching them so they don't sound like Governor's Daughter giggles, then mixed them into the "win" audio tracks. There are a couple of oddities, but I worked to make it all sound as natural as possible without having to recreate things from scratch, and in context it works pretty well, especially given the characters all speak Simlish-style nonsense anyway.
REQUIREMENTS: Technically none. This is meant to work with the incrediblenick's The Sea Vixen mod, available here, but you can use the audio without installing Sea Vixen. If you want your male-presenting character to have a woman's voice, it will work for that too -- go for it!
INSTALLATION: Unrar and drop the .wav files into the Pirates! custom folder.
UNINSTALL: Delete them from the Pirates! custom folder.
CONFLICTS: None? Obviously, installing this will overwrite any other instances of the same-named audio files in your custom folder. I'm not aware of any other mods that customize these particular files, and it shouldn't break the game even if you install them over something else, so ... no problems?
