Launch your game and disable vertical sync (V-Sync) in the settings menu. Then toggle frame generation.
This will result in screen tearing. To restore vertical sync and keep frame generation working properly, open Nvidia Control Panel, navigate to "Manage 3D settings", and then enable "Vertical sync" for your specific game.
Old framerate limiters don't work correctly. Check if they explicitly support frame generation first.
If you experience crashes while changing graphics settings in menus and are using an external overlay (RTSS, MSI Afterburner, Special-K, ReShade, etc...) try closing the overlay process first. Outdated versions don't support asynchronous frame generation.
Oblivion Remastered: I've been using this mod nearly for every game that supports FG and it runs fine (solid work and thanks) but when i sneak in Oblivion Remastered the modded FG falls apart and only when i sneak, no issues when walking and running, also the FSR3 FG implementation of the game got no issues in this scenario. GPU: RTX 3060 12 GB Update: Version.dll and winhttp.dll make the DLSS FG option appear but fps wont increase anymore though afterburner says 70 fps for example :(( Update 2: GUYS I FOUND IT! 1: set the DLSS sharpness to zero and FG mod works fine, for some weird reason it breaks the FG. 2: Thanks to SeanAH suggestion, removing the sneaking vignette and sneaking no longer breaks the FG mod, if you saw the low health vignette breaking the FG then remove it too.
Did you figure out how to fix the sneak issue? Want to use this myself, works great until you sneak and see your screen get torn to shreds whenever you move the camera.
Mine used to be the same but since last night it doesn't even boost fps when not sneaking (universal version), i think it's the game's fault (steam version here) because this mod nearly works on every game (Stalker 2, Avowed, CP2077, Star wars Jedi Survivor which even has FSR 2 and Last of Us Part 2 all worked fine)
I have the same GPU and got zero issue in Oblivion Remastered while using the version.dll (v0.130) in both cases (no problem even when sneaking in the game too), using Non-Denuvo Build Tabletka By CODEX/RUNE btw, not legit copy and didn't update the game so far and some people already clarified that new update already broke something in the game, maybe it's patch related issue dunno...
If you have not resolved this yet, the problem is due to the vignette when sneaking. There is a mod that disables the vignette, install this and it should work fine when sneaking.
Perhaps the vignette remover mod SeanAH is talking about resolves the problem but the real problem is even without sneaking the FG wont work anymore for some weird reason, and i have not updated the game so far.
ON OBLIVION REMASTERED HOW COME WHEN I TURN FG ON I GET ALL THE EXTRA FRAMES BUT ALSO MY WHOLE SCREEN TURNES PURPLE, THEN WHEN I TURN FG OFF IT GOES BACK TO NORMAL, IM CONFUSED LOL
I got this as well. Seems there's something wonky with the game's own Reflex implementation. I used SpecialK to override it with it's own Reflex, and that fixed it.
Anyone could managed to run Nukem's FG Enabler on RTX 20/30 series with Puredark's new Clair Obscure Expedition 33 DLSS4 Build? I have tried all the versions of v0.130 today but unfortunately Puredark's mod still doesn't detect the Nukem's mod..Copied into the right path (Binaries/Win64) where the main executable exe is also located with the other Puredark's mod files.
Hi, sorry, little new to modding and can't figure this out. EDIT: GPU RTX 3090
Do I need to download dlssg-to-fsr3-0.130 AND dlssg-to-fsr3-0.130 (Universal) ??
I just downloaded the second one (Universal) and put both of the files: winhttp.dll and dlssg_to_fsr3_amd_is_better.dll into my \steamapps\common\Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Binaries\Win64 Folder.
I turned off vsync in game but frame gen is still grayed out. I checked and my hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is on.
Please let me know if anyone has a tip of something i may have missed. <33
EDIT: I also have used vortex for all my other mods besides this one. This one I did a manual install so I could add just those files to my games binaries/win64 folder. Not sure if that would affect anything.
If you are like me and can't launch Oblivion Remastered after setting this up, here's the fix:
Everyone, and I mean literally everyone said to use the version.dll one. This comment section, Reddit, Google searches, all the people everywhere on the internet.
Try the other ones within the UNIVERSAL version. Instead of version.dll I hail maryed all the other ones until one worked. For me it was winhttp.dll
Great tool winhttp.dll for life 10/10
TLDR; My game wouldn't launch. Used winhttp.dll instead of version.dll. Many frames
Did everything exactly like it was told here. Used the version.dll + dlss_to_fsr_isbetter files and put them into the right folder. started the game. chose dlss and then chose frame generation, which has not been available before. So I thought it would work.
start the game from the main menu and ... the same 50-60 fps like before in a ´´bad´´ spot. deleted everything, checked for corrupted files with steam... went into the game again. loaded my save without the ´´fix´´ and ... 50-60 fps...
in the meantime someone put a post in the comments and told, because of the update (oblivion got a small update, today) we would have to abc....123... did exactly what we wrote (extending the engine.ini) and it did not work, too
seems like no ´´fix´´ oder ´´mod´´ related to this game, works right now.
This mod works on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. But please read below:
- DLL location: place the UNIVERSAL version at the following using the one of the dll: Gamepass: <Drive Letter>\XboxGames\The Elder Scrolls IV- Oblivion Remastered\Content\OblivionRemastered\Binaries\WinGDK Steam: <path to Steam folder>\steamapps\common\Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Binaries\Win64
- An update broke the mod for some GamePass users. Please see comment below by Fugalism for a fix, by editing the .ini, if you encounter an issue.
- Please disable any overlays (such as RTSS, Afterburner, etc.) to avoid potential crashes.
- If you have ghosting issues: in case anyone else experiences anything similar, Marp0son found a workaround. Use the console commands and change the FOV to 120-125 in 1st person mode (3rd isn't really a problem). Thanks to Marp0son for the workaround.
- Some users reported that the DLSS FrameGen option becomes unavailable after a while. Confirm that hardware acceleration for GPU is turned on in Windows, and Vsync is turned off in the game, as per the mod description. Then check again. If the issue persists, then it is a bug. There is no workaround currently. Please report the bug. Use FSR or disable the mod in the meantime.
Please note I am not working with this mod team. I am a user like you.
Thanks to everyone in the comment section who shared their experience.
While the game supports FSR FG, this mod might help to get better results for NVIDIA users. Use one or the other depending on your setup.
EDIT: Found it. Place the UNIVERSAL version here: <Drive Letter>\XboxGames\The Elder Scrolls IV- Oblivion Remastered\Content\OblivionRemastered\Binaries\WinGDK (I used the version.dll one) Steam: <path to Steam folder>\steamapps\common\Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Binaries\Win64 (Thanks @EduardHavron) The other version does not seem to work for me with this game.
Fugalism, can you please advise what exact version of universal packages you're using? Also, I can't seem to find that directory in steam version of the game :(
UPD: Seem to be working with winhttp Directory as follows: Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Binaries\Win64
Yea idk, not working for me as others report. Copied to same path, works in every other game. Oblivion crashes as soon as I select FG using version or winhttp dlls
I got it working in the Gamepass version by putting the UNIVERSAL dbghelp.dll in ~\Elder Scrolls IV- Oblivion Remastered\Content\OblivionRemastered\Binaries\WinGDK
I don't have any overlays running. Closed MSI/Rivatuner, steam overlay is disabled. No matter what version I try, enabling FG will crash the game. Removing the mod fixes issue. I use this mod for almost every game, never had this issue.
EDIT: Fixed by going fullscreen as opposed to borderless, but Oblivion won't let me use my DSR resolution..
PeanutsCashew, even if the game supports FSR 3.1, I personally prefer using this mod because it forces NVIDIA Reflex — which helps improve input responsiveness.
The only case where I chose native FSR Frame Generation over this modded DLSS FG was in STALKER 2, as the game would freeze after a few minutes when using the mod. Other than that, I try to use it in every supported game.
PS: Could you update your original post with the latest findings? Also, please use the full name The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered — it will help others find your post more easily using the search function. Thanks!
anyone else getting crazy specific ghosting around edge of screen in oblivion remaster? specifically around the edges of weapons or items held in hand? the mod def gives me great frames but it comes with a really noticeable ghosting, i know some ghosting may be expected when dealing with dlss or fsr or FG but this is next level- just checking if im the only one, or if anyone else has had any luck reducing ghosting in past!
thanks for mod btw!
*EDIT - in case anyone else experiences anything similar - found a workaround (not great but noticeably better) - use the console commands and change the FOV im using something in the ballpark of 120-125 in 1st person mode (3rd isnt really a problem) but now when i have a weapon out it doesn't collide with the edge of the frame where the "issue area" is happening and therefor my Weapon doesn't ghost all over my screen anymore.
PeanutsCashew, thanks again for updating your post — I really appreciate it! That said, I’d like to kindly ask you to make one more small revision.
The reason is that the search function on Nexus highlights individual posts, not full threads. So if someone searches for help, your main post should ideally contain all the essential info.
Could you please edit it again and include: - The correct DLL placement paths for both Game Pass and Steam versions. - A note to disable any overlays (such as RTSS, Afterburner, etc.) to avoid potential crashes. - A mention of the ghosting fix shared by Marp0son.
Once again, thank you for your contributions — they’re genuinely helpful to the community!
Sadly none of the files worked for me on Steam. Game loads but crashes, sometimes in the loading screen or a few seconds into the gameplay. Removed the files and works fine.
Im getting my CPU loading on 100% when I replace the files to enable the frame generation and everything getting stuttered and CPU starting to throttle, what can be the problem?
Same here, it worked yesterday, now it shows as greyed out in the menu, set to "On", but it's definitely not working anymore, fps is much lower. No idea what happened to make it not work.
Worked almost great so far on RTX 3060 12GB with DLSS4 and REFLEX but unfortunately minor artifactings are still there near by both the weapons and edges of the character in 3rd person mode when moving the camera fast eventhough I've tried the shared FOV method however, it's generally seems to be ok anyway which is not a big deal.. In terms of performance wise, it's way much much smoother compared to in-game FSR3.0 FG (Probably they've used FSR3.0 here because only FSR3 Upscaler is available when FSR3 FG is selected, not with the decoupled DLSS+Reflex) but again even with Nukem's DLSS FG Enabler, game doesn't work silky smooth without enabling Motion Blur, so I play with Motion Blur ON with REFLEX ON/ON+BOOST options and feels good enough. I think the FG implementation is not the perfect in this game but holding up ok..
EDIT: Even if you disable the FG completely, game introduces the same related artifacts near the weapon and character so it's not the mod issue I mentioned about, so just enjoy the game and follow the further game updates other than that mod works perfectly fine enough.
I updated the post. Please note I do not work with this team, so please report bugs as you find them. Please share any workarounds and @ me so I can update the post. Thank you.
It's working for me every time, no issue. If you using legit game copy, it may use some sort of Safeguard, so game files would be automatically updated which means those files might be deleted in any auto-update. I'm using non-Denuvo version of the game, based on Steam release, tablet by CODEX/RUNE. Mod works every time stable and active.
Let the game loads all the shaders, it may take few minutes or seconds depending on your CPU & GPU processing speeds. If the CPU usage still keeps staying at %100 all the time we can believe that your CPU is weak for this game.
So the GamePass version had an update today. I am unsure what it did yet, but I tried to get this to work with Oblivion and for some reason my Anti-Aliasing is greyed out on 'FXAA' and my Upscaling Technique says 'Off' and pressing arrows does nothing. I have deleted the version.dll from the folder, but I am still getting the same issues described above.
*Edit to add:
Also to be clear, I have followed all previous instructions from disabling vsync, etc. I have verified game files on the Xbox app and it's still producing the same issues.
Add these lines to Engine.ini and make the file read-only. [SystemSettings]Altar.UpscalingMethod=1 Altar.DLSS.Quality=4 Altar.DLSS.FG.Enabled=1 Altar.Reflex.Mode=3 DLSS Quality -> 4 = Quality, 5 = Balanced, 6 = Performance, 7 = Ultra Performance Reflex: 1 = On, 3 = On + Boost Engine.ini path: Game Pass - C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\WinGDK Steam - C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\Windows Do not forget to set the file to read-only! This also works when using the DLSS + FSR mod. If you prefer FSR: [SystemSettings]Altar.FSR3.Enabled=1 Altar.FSR3.FI.Enabled=1 Altar.FSR3.Quality=2 Altar.FSR3.Sharpness=25
So after two days of trying to get this to work, the only thing that enabled the "DLSS" frame gen in the settings was OptiScaler's nukem option with this mod. It's still very stuttery which sucks, but eh.

Done.
Sorry I am not home so I did it on the phone and I am getting some trouble with the formatting.
But I did my best XD
Reinstalling it also won't let me re-enable it.

dlssg_to_fsr3.dll in the listed folder but it's not working, I still can't turn on FSR framegen with DLSS.
