Hey all!

Many of you know about my mod College of Winterhold Glory days, mod that has been very buggy and unstable up until now.
I now have some time to start working on the mod again and I am launching the Realistic College of Winterhold mod project.

There are many mods out there that modify the College and some of them are truly astonishing but I think they just make the College into a super player home for the Archmage, when it shouldn't be like that.

What will be different?

I always wondered why it was called a "College" when it doesn't even have any classrooms or any sanitary facilities for students and staff. The new mod will change that. The College will become a real college with classes and all things an actual college would have. Of course this is a college where you study magic and do some research on ancient history or artifacts.

This new college will be about teaching magic. The Archmage will have his quarters and some displays for artifacts of his own, but the College will not be a super player home.

I understand this might not be for everybody but hey, some people might like it!

As always I am open to suggestions and look forward to hearing them and including them in the first version of the mod.

    Very good Idea.
A college is primary meant to be a place for learning and researching. Not only classrooms should be added also magic-experimental labors perhaps? Of course sanitary rooms like toilets and showers or baths would be very immersive. Like my old Inigo says:" Do you realize there are no toilets? You people really are animals, you know.. " And a dining room with cooks to buy food.
Maybe a little questline for the archmage to have things done in the academy. Weekly or monthly meetings of the teachers, highmage and archmage to discuss and lay the path into the future of the academy? There was a mod in oblivion and this meetings was very brief. Oh and a meeting room for this meetings of course like the round table in oblivion....

Will we be able to play this on and already existing saves or will a new save have to be started. I'll try the mod out either way. I'm just curious.

I really like everything I'm hearing about this mod and I really like the idea of the College of Winterhold actually behaving like a real college. I'm looking forward to playing this when it is released.

    P.S. Thank you for modding.

I think the quest need to have something similar to what Enhanced Skyrim Factions did for the The Companions. I always found the main college quest to quick.

As for the building itself, maybe adding more floors would help. Hell it was suppose to be a fortress right?

I use 3 College's mod and one adds classrooms.
And BTW why you just update the mod instead of creating a new one?
And well... I never seen a sanitary facility in whole Skyrim.

I'm remaking it because the first one is way to buggy and I will spend less time remaking it than searching for and fixing all the bugs in the old one
Well sanitary facilities lack in Skyrim... Where can the inhabitants go to the toilet? Or Shower for that matter?

It would be so cool... To put radiant quests from the different schools of magic that would reward you with 1 level in that school. This way you could do like... 100 radiant quests to get destruction to 100 or once you reach level 90 the you of course just do the ritual quests and radiant quests for that school will no longer be offered. Maybe put certain conditions like kill a troll using the fire rune. If you don't do it that way then you fail the lesson and don't get the skill level reward.

When i picture the College of Winterhold it's a bustling research center for magic users with a accurately diverse student body with amazing research/library halls and many teachings of the schools of magic. And also the excavation didn't seem like a true a site not really any workers or people studying it

A college can be an institute of learning, yes. But the word also refers to an organized group of professionals with specific aims, duties, and privileges. It's a place to study magic, not necessarily to learn it. That's why it's referred to as a college, even though its educational facilities are minimal.

I agree, but the College of Winterhold is there to educate a new generation of mages.
