Honestly I can understand your "ewww..." my first impression of him after hearing his famous line of, "Let's kill someone" while watching someone else having him as a follower was, "Why in the hell would anyone want him as a follower?" and "Humf well I'm gonna kill that sicko asap!"
But then I looked into his background and grew to love how he chattered away in scary dungeons and crack jokes while talking with boring NPCs with sticks up there backsides. Hearing his voice for some reason calms me down and to lighten up in general. That and way he giggles and comments on how it tickles every time I adjust his "equipment" ALWAYS puts a smile on my face.
But I think what really turned me into a Cicero fan was this wonderful comic by spaceskeleton http://spaceskeleton.deviantart.com/art/Boethiah-s-Calling-326937148
