About this image
Without compass or maps to guide myself with, She ran around looking for paths and rivers, all the while evading the lurking wolves and patrolling bandits. Amire had no weapons at hand, no armor nor food.
Eventually she found a huge stone bridge. Upon questioning the nearby lumberman she found out it was nothing other than the Dragon Bridge.
She spoke to an old lady in town, who promised to reward her for fetching a bottle of her husband\'s stash -- to teach him a *lesson*. She did mention there were wolves, but Amire knew she had to get some gold to buy food and shelter.
She scouted the area, the cave was packed with wolves and right next to a river. She had no experience in combat, nor was she particularly strong, but she did learn some restoration magic. While enduring the pain of getting her flesh torn and healed immediately after, she managed to fetch the hidden bottle and escape from the wolves, losing them by swimming to the other side of the river.
She was surprised for how far she had gone to obtain a mere bottle of ale, but to her surprise she was given a *whole* bag of gold, with 250 coins inside.
Little did she know that buying food and renting a room would cost her well over 100 gold.
Dishearted, she headed towards the city. She needed a weapon, anything. The world was harsh and she was weak, she needed at least a dagger to fend off attackers.
But when she passed through the solitude gates, she witnessed a man being beheaded; a public execution. The nausea almost made her vomit, but she had to find clothes and a weapon before the sun settled over the mountainside.
She had little luck with the blacksmith, who refused to sell her anything. The clothes merchant wouldn\'t even let her in to try some clothes. She was just a few grains of dirt from beign a proper beggar.
She found a general merchant in the main street. She proceeded inside, thinking that buying over-priced goods would be better than none at all. To her surprise, the prices were cheap, and she got herself a dagger and a decent set of clothes for 40 gold.
The lady was so kind that she even allowed her to bathe and change into her new clothes, after Amire told her what she went through.
Seeing a glimmer of hope for the first time since she woke up in the wilderness strengthened her will to survive and become stronger.
